H1000 and 300 winmag case capacity

Re: H1000 and 300 winmag case capacity Have shot it in a .300 Win. with a 190 Berger up to 81 gr. but it's a very odd rifle. It seems this rifle doesn't produce much for pressure. Every load I've tried has ended up a ways over book just to get velocity. The berger load is compressed, and at...

Range Report Hearing steel at long range

Re: Hearing steel at long range I hang mine with 2 eye bolts, and clevises. Eye bolts through the frame, and clevises to go through them, and the plate. They swing freely, ring loud, and the clevises are tough as nails for shrapnel, or the occasional bullet strike.

Fieldcraft over penetration of center fire rifle rounds

Re: over penetration of center fire rifle rounds I'm thinking that a 6.5-284 is a rather rare caliber, compared to other popular chamberings. This guy broke into a long range shooter's home. Is there a criminal forum we can post this on, to warn the other criminals what happens when you break...

    For those with little girls

Re: For those with little girls I remember those days. She is 14 now, and far too busy most of the time, but once hunting season is coming up, she will still pull up a stool at the bench, and load her own. Her own rounds make her hunting that much more exciting. Enjoy it while you can.

    ar400 steel

Re: ar400 steel I shoot an ar400 plate with a .300 wby and 208 a-max, and at 400 or more, no real damage is done. Maybe a very light dent. You can barely feel it if you run your hand over it. This target is free to swing when I hit it though. Oddly enough, a .22-250 will put a good pock mark...

    P90x Week 2

Re: P90x Week 2 It absolutely works. While you're pushing yourself to the limit, remember not to push past it. I did that last October at week 8. I had gained 16 pounds at day 56, but pushed so hard I got rhabdomyolysis, a buildup of broken down muscle tissue in the kidneys. This damaged my...

    Best Way to Crimp

Re: Best Way to Crimp I'm with okiefired on this one. I'd try turning the die down about a quarter turn. You may feel some resistance when the press cams over, but it would most likely solve your problem. One of my die sets contacts the shell holder pretty solidly, but it solved the same...

    I Quit. Smoking that is.

Re: I Quit. Smoking that is. Congrats!! I quit 3 1/2 years ago cold turkey.... Maybe the hardest thing I've ever done. Then I got in a fight with my brother one night, and went right back to it... That was in January. I quit again a week ago, cold turkey again. It gets much easier once you...
