How confidant are you; 3/4 inch consistantly at 100+ yards POLL

I'd be interested in giving it a try. Heck, I figure if I hit just one and the others are close, it still wouldn't be a bad group.

    Painted my Mark II

You know, I really like that. What paint, and how many coats in all, from beginning to end? Really looks good!

How confidant are you; 3/4 inch consistantly at 100+ yards POLL

I claimed I could hit one out of five with the rig I'd be shooting, and I think that's more the norm for this. Two to three out of five? Maybe two...

    Hanging golfballs got boring...

Good shooting. From a personal stand point I have found that just about any target can get boring after a while. Challenging on the other hand is a good thing. I'd say the .223 shells are challenging!

    Shootin' Gongs Tomorrow

Hey Top Predator, that's some mighty fine shooting! That's getting out there with those ranges past 200. It doesn't seem 200 is the norm for long range .22 anymore. Seems it has become 3 to 4 hundred. I had a good day to shoot 200 yards, but I figured the Range wasn't mowed so I left the...

    Shootin' Gongs Tomorrow

That spur of the moment shooting can sure be fun, 1time. I did get out this morning. Took the Marlin 80DL with peep sights, and the scoped Marlin 80 (Sears & Roebuck) rifle's, and shot paper and small gongs from 50 yards. Once I got to shooting I realized just how much I have been missing...

    Shootin' Gongs Tomorrow

Well its been a while since I've posted anything and done any .22lr shooting. Thought I'd go out tomorrow (Wednesday) and do some shooting with one of my .22's... Not sure which one as yet, but shooting at some gongs sounds kind of fun. Don't know about the rest of you, but since this "rim...

    Getting the kids into firearms

I've always started my kids out with a .22 single shot bolt action, and will do the same with my grand kids. I know, I'm old school, but I feel when kids are young and impressionable they absorb the information we give them, and that helps to build on the next step of firearm information. Yes...

Am I seeing that right? $60.00 a box of 100 rounds of CCI ???

CTD lost my business as soon as I saw those prices. I take pleasure in throwing their flyer away as soon as it arrives in the mail.

    Is it over!!!????

I don't know if there is a cure for the paranoid. Ammo will come back and when it does I expect all us will buy a bit more then usual. Not because we need it, but because we'll remember what has happened with this latest ammo shortage and we don't want to get caught by the short hairs again...

Looks like a fun and challanging match.

Savage MKii for my son, .22LR, sight in at 50 or 100 yards???

I'd let him get comfortable with the scope at 25 yards first, then move him to 50 yards. I don't think I'd rush to the 100 yard mark before he is comfortable at those distances.

    long range .22 lr

What's wrong with that? I don't even move my knobs, I just adjust my hold on my target after trying to get the best wind read I can. Sometimes it takes a round or two, or three, but that's just me and the way I do things.

Champions Choice Has Wolf MT and SK Jagd in stock as of NOW! 4/2/13

My mistake guys. I thought those prices at CC for the Wolf were for 50 rnd boxes. I see they are for 100 rnd boxes. So yes, the price is ok, I agree.

Champions Choice Has Wolf MT and SK Jagd in stock as of NOW! 4/2/13

For the prices they have listed (and at other sites as well), in the long run a person would be better off to buy an FFL and cut a better pricing deal at wholesale price, if this is the new trend in retail pricing.

Are Air rifles the pacifier or alternative to ammo availability & cost?

I'm looking pretty heavy at the Ruger Air Hawk, .177 / 1000 fps... Watched some reviews on this one and a member of our gun club let me shoot his last year. I was impressed that from 20 yards the pellet did penetrate the golf ball, and the noise factor was (from what I recall) just right for...

    long range .22 lr

Well, when the old timer's that were shooting at Creedmoor, back in the latter part of the 1870's, they shot at a [6 ft. tall x 12' wide target with a 36 inch square bulls'eye] from 800, 900, and 1000 yards. They had to have one heck of a rain bow trajectory just as the .22lr needs. This long...
