    Tikka UPR - thoughts

They may need to explain what a "set" trigger is then. From their web page, "You can choose between single stage or set trigger." If you go to the link Spife provided and select the triggers option box on the left, there are three choices but, 2-stage is not selectable. Whatever the "set"...

    Tikka UPR - thoughts

Okay, NOPE! No 2-stage trigger. It is the adjustable single stage or the set single stage. I think that is a huge miss on their part. Do the people who make these decisions even shoot? Who would want THIS rifle with a non-adjustable trigger? Bob

    Tikka UPR - thoughts

I thought I saw somewhere that it would be available with two different triggers. I assume that would be the standard single stage or the 2-stage from the TAC A1. I will likely buy one if the 2-stage is a reality but, I would definitely buy one if they would offer it in 6mm creed with the...

Tikka T3x TAC A1 Magazine "Last Round Weirdness"

There is an issue that some have with their Tikka mags where the last round or two tend to sit nose down and don't strip into the chamber but instead plow into the inlet. I've not had this problem but, I've seen shown a couple times here on the forums how to disassemble the mag and adjust the...

Remington 700 SPS Tac Build 6.5 Creedmoor

Have you shot this rifle? Like, is it broken in and you feel like there's some potential for accuracy in it? I've been down the road you're looking down right now and it can end up in disappointment so I suggest you do everything you can to make sure it will shoot before you dump money into it. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

Yeah, I've checked them out on Stocky's before. I'm really leaning toward ordering a prefit. I have a couple m700's that I could swap out a barrel but, now that I'm becoming a Tikka fanboy it's hard to consider anything else. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

You're right, it is a killer deal but, I'm just not feeling it. Adding in the inability to use CTR mags it's just too many little things that don't work for me. For the same money, I could build from a donor T3 action and have exactly what I want and it will shoot at least as good. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

Is yours a fixed or variable shoulder prefit? I'm looking at Preferred Barrel Blanks; they offer both for Tikka T3. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

I'm not a fan of single stage triggers on precision rifles. I think the 24" barrel is shorting me about 40-60fps. I may not have owned a 6creed but, I've researched the hell out of them and 26" seems to be the optimal length. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

Just got confirmation from Ultimatum that the Defacto will NOT work with CTR mags. I think instead of saying it is "based" on the Tikka T3, they should say it is "inspired" by it. Seems like a mess to me. Bob

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

I saw this in the SHOT 2020 reports. I didn't realize they had begun the presale. It is (probably) not the best option for me though that doesn't mean I can't be convinced. Downsides for me on this BA are the TriggerTech trigger and the 24" barrel being the only option. The other thing I just...

Best 6mm Creedmoor option for around $1500

I've been kicking around the idea of trying out a 6mm Creedmoor. Really for no other reason than, I don't have one. I want to get the best out of it for the money and I'd prefer to stay around $1500. The option that appeals to me most is finding a Tikka T3x donor and putting a prefit on it. I...

Rifle Scopes $1000 scope to shoot 1000 yards need help

Take a look at this quick comparison/review I did on the new Athlon Midas TAC. This scope is easily the equal of those twice the price and Athlon has excellent customer service. I need to come back to the review and give a range report but, I will just say that the tracking on this thing appears...

    Tikka T3X CTR vx Remington 700 5R Gen 2

I completely agree with this. I would not start a kid out with a .308. Based on my experience with many Remington 700's (but not the specific one you mention) and with the Tikka CTR, I would go with the 20" CTR in a 6.5 Creedmoor and get the KRG Bravo inlet for the CTR mags because they are...
