    Gunsmithing Rechambering a barrel question.

Re: Rechambering a barrel question. Save your money. Shoot out the 243 barrel and rechamber the next one to CM. If you're handloading both you won't see any difference. Save the CM brass and buy some 243. You're throwing away money to pay for the rechambering.

    .264 Win Mag

Re: .264 Win Mag Great cartridge. 1500 accurate rounds is WAY optimistic. I used one for the No Bull Sniper matches at Sac Valley. It's a laser. But the barrel cost per round is as much or more than you're cartridge cost per round.

    Applying Hornady One-Shot Case Lube

Re: Applying Hornady One-Shot Case Lube One Shot has worked for 1000's of rounds. Put the cases neck down into a 50 round box. Invert that onto a cookie sheet so the rounds are standing up. Slide a piece of card stock (the side of your Captain Crunch box) between the rows and slide them...

    Frankford Arsenal Bullet Puller Troubleshooting

Re: Frankford Arsenal Bullet Puller Troubleshooting Don't use the collet that came with the impact puller. Use a shell holder from your single stage reloading press instead. Way stronger. Just slower.

    Gunsmithing .260 ruptured case extraction

Re: .260 ruptured case extraction If the gun is disabled waiting for an extractor I've used epoxy to get a seperated case out. Muzzle down seal the neck of the case with a plug (cotton ball). Mixed some JB Weld, used a straw to suck some up and then fill the case carefully, not getting it...

    .260 cheap/ bulk/ practice ammo

Re: .260 cheap/ bulk/ practice ammo With 243 or 308 you can pickup cheap soft point Federal or Winchester, $15/box at walmart. Not so 260. Everyone only loads premium bullets. If you handload you can find bulk Winchester .264 bullets but they are dual diameter meant to bore-ride in a .264...

    Measuring Group Size

Re: Measuring Group Size As stated above. Additional thoughts: Group size is measured center to center. 99% of the time just lay some calipers on the most distant centers. The trouble measuring outside to outside is you have to make sure your outside is a full caliber. If you measure a...

    Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding Question

Re: Pillar Bedding Question The pillars on a DBM actually serve as spacers to keep the magazine in the correct positions relative to the reciever. I don't know about Surgeon but Badger pillars are front 0.72" and rear 1.07". A factory Remington is front 0.75" and rear 1.25". Thus a some...

is it normal for 3/8" AR500 to dimple at 100??

Re: is it normal for 3/8" AR500 to dimple at 100?? We have had to check all our ammo with magnets recently because of target damage. Some American Eagle has been found that can be picked up by a magnet. Just because it shouldn't have a steel core doesn't mean it doesn't.
