reloading for .38 special/.357....lead bullets, which brands???

Proper bullet sizing, lube, velocity and loading techniques will minimize if not completely eliminate any leading you might have. I'll recommend Missouri Bullet, the prices are great, customer service is top notch and their product is fantastic. I run their 158 LSWC under 16gr of H110/296...

Need input on NNY (PPU) .308 brass

Yes, I use this brass quite a bit actually in one of my 700's I have really never match prep'd it but it will shoot well if you can. I load it under a mild amount of W748 (44gr) with a Hornady 150 FMJBT, it chronographs all day around 2600-2630 FPS from a 20" barrel. I have gotten a few...

    Anyone else's S&W M&P 40 hard on brass?

Start reading about primers here http://38super.net/index.html Your picture is not great for me, I cant tell squat. Looks like a slight smear but pistol primers are hard to read sometimes .40 S&W is way to pressure sensitive to work with for me without a chronograph. Without one reading...

    Hornady 195 BTHP

I tried a few from my 700 SPS in .308 win, the accuracy was not great. In a rifle that generally shoots sub MOA with just about any factory ammo i have ever tried, it struggled to shoot better then 2 MOA. I'll admit my load development was short and only used 2 powders. I think the only reason...

    Brass Hoarding and the Consequences

Rifle brass and pistol brass are completely different animals, how you load, specific brass preparation and being anal is another thing. All my range brass is separated and marked accordingly. My pistol brass is 95% range brass that I sort and bag up after each time I come home, its time...

380 auto brass out of 9x18mak

9x19 is really easy to convert to 9X18 Resize once fired 9x19 in a 9x18 die> trim/deburr> bell with the 9x18 die> then load I would assume its just the same except Resize once fired 9x18 in .380 die> trim/deburr > bell with .380 die > then load Try a few with a very light load and familiar...

    Affordable 308 for plinking fun?

The PPU white box stuff that AIM was getting in for $9.50/20 was a good deal last year, its all re-loadable brass and great for plinking. I can generally get about 7-10 loads from the brass too. I wouldn't shoot steel cased stuff in a rifle that I have $3k into, its really retard logic...

Decent ECONOMICAL 308 bullet for 100-500 yards

My standard plinking load Hornady 150 FMJBT, seated to cannelure (2.735") 44 grains of W-748 Winchester LRP PPU cases trimmed to 2.005 Will chrono all day just a hair over 2600 FPS in a 20" bolt gun, will print 1 MOA or less out to 300 yards. At this rate the brass will take 7-10 loadings...

Anyone have ttrouble with Tula Sma Pistol primers?

Re: Anyone have ttrouble with Tula Sma Pistol primers? I have run about 10K in the last few years, only gun that I have issues with has a lightened hammer spring. Every other gun that I have with factory hammer springs runs them all perfectly.

First time loading off the lands

Re: First time loading off the lands Universal expanding die, flare the case enough so you can almost pull the bullet out by hand. Close the bolt, pull bullet...repeat People want to make something easy like this hard, the Hornady tool is kind of junk, you would be better off doing the old...

    problem with PPU .308 ammo????

Re: problem with PPU .308 ammo???? Might help if you list the load... I have loaded the same lot of PPU (.308) about 3 times now and have yet to have the brass stretch much, not really enough to see more then one trim as its hardly grown past 2.018 My load, 44.0 grains of W748, Hornady 150...

    Win 748 for .308 advice

Re: Win 748 for .308 advice I have had a lot of luck with 748 and starting loads out to about 300 yards. Work it up from your rifle the correct way and you will more then likely have better luck then getting information from strangers online

    Berry's Bullets?

Re: Berry's Bullets? Inconsistent I would say. 2 separate bullets, simple sample to back my experience. These bullets were not loaded, pulled or crimped in any manner

    Berry's Bullets?

Re: Berry's Bullets? I found a fair amount of inconsistencies in Berry's final product, in turn I had some problems loading them in what should be a fairly easy caliber to load. I mostly shoot lead in .45ACP so the 2000 that I bought a while back may have been a "bad batch". I'm going to...
