    Range Report Magnetospeed question

    The electronics are also much faster on the V3. The Sporter needs a lot more time (10 seconds?) between shots before it is ready to record the next round. I've never timed how long is needed but I have missed capturing data because I fired before the Sporter was ready.

    Determining wind direction (using Kestrel)

    Kestrel has a short video on setting wind direction. The basic concept is to turn away from the wind until the impeller stops which will be 90 degrees off the wind direction. Then turn back 90 degrees and take the measurement.

    Magneto Speed Alternate Mounting Options effectiveness.

    I use the MPA Magnetospeed adapter which mounts to the chassis. When using the MPA mount there is no point of impact change on my gun. I have also used the MS on barrel and there a slight POI change high and left for my gun.

    How is a field match different than a PRS match? I know field matches descriptions say something to the effect of hunting or tactical shooting conditions. I assume that means more prone shooting or off large natural props vs a barricade and over the hood of an abandoned car?

    What data is everyone using in their kestrel 5700 for the 130gr PRIME 6.5cm

    I've only had the Kestrel for a few months. Previously I used the AB app on my phone which worked fine when I was near the weather stations and had good cell signal. A couple matches I go to have limited cell coverage so the Kestrel fills that void for me.
