What’s the general consensus on OAL with Bergers?

Thanks. Interesting article. I'm set up with a light jam and will need to try the suggested method. It would be nice to get away from chasing the lands.

What data is everyone using in their kestrel 5700 for the 130gr PRIME 6.5cm

Normal Diamond is what I'm using also. I've shot a couple cases through a 26" Broughton. I use 2925 fps average for most matches but it has been as high as 2940 (average) in different environments. SD has been around 10 plus or minus and ES low 20s plus or minus.

It is SubMOA on iPad. Real easy to use once you figure out what the buttons are.

Rifle Scopes NF ATACR Scope Caps

I remove the cover and chamber flag right before shooting. I jammed my thumb real good when cycling the bolt a few times and decided it was just easier to remove the cover vs trying to get it aligned to a non-interference position. Chamber flag and cover go back on at the same time.

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

Update for my 6.5 CM rookie load development. I was able to get out last weekend and shoot a few verification rounds at 300 yards. I loaded 20 rounds with 43.8 grains of H4350 with the first set of ten touching the lands and the second set of ten set 5 thousandths into the lands. The groups...

    MPA Magnetospeed Adaptor

I have the adapter attached to the spigot mount and the Magnetospeed Sporter. The length is good with with a 26 inch barrel plus brake. The setup probably wouldn't be long enough without the spigot mount on my rifle and the Sporter. For those interested I notched (down) a spot for the rod to...

    Magnetospeed: v3 kit vs sporter

I have the Sporter and it needs 10 or so seconds (not sure exactly) between shots or it will not capture the next shot. It needs to cycle through each of the values i.e. velicity for that round, Avg, SD, ES... before being ready for the next round. If I shoot before it is back to the standby...

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

I forgot to mention the main change on the last outing was all rounds were seated to be barely touch the lands.

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

I got out again for another round of load development. A few people suggested that I pursue the 43.8 charge weight but I'm not sure why because the group sizes weren't the smallest? My guess is the recommendation is because there is a velocity flat spot between 43.7 - 43.9 in addition to lower...

    Really Right Stuff moving.....

Congrats on leaving CA. I lived in Lehi for a few years. I'm sure you already know there is a lot of growth in the SLC area but the cost of living will be significantly less than CA.

Rifle Scopes Shooting in the rain and wet optics

I shot a match this last weekend and in typical Coastal Oregon fashion it rained all day. I unsuccessfully attempted to keep my rifle and scope out of the weather. How do you guys deal with wet optics? The issue was mostly caused by the sideways rain when attempting to shoot. One of the...

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

I was able to get out again last weekend for a bit more load development. I dropped down to 0.2 grain spread and also shot 5 round groups this time. Again no pressure signs. I wasn't sure where to go the best groups being a pretty high charge so I discussed the results with my rifle...

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

I suppose it depends what you would call premature? I'm playing in the PRS game which means replacing barrels. For reference the gun really likes PRIME 130s at 2925 fps. Thanks for the advice everyone. It will be a week or two before I can do another round of load development.

There were no pressure signs. Primers on the highest charges looked the same as the lowest charges. No extractor marks or pressure rings at the webbing. Thanks,

6.5 Creedmoor load development **update 3-22-18**

Bored today? Nothing beats looking at internet pictures! Rookie re-loader and sub amateur PRS shooter so don't expect too much. Looking for input and ideas of where you might go next. All were 100 yards / 3 round groups except for the one with the note of extra 4th round loaded (by mistake)...
