    Winchester 70 Heavy Barrel

The Wnchester model 70 was based off the U.S. Model of 1917 .30 Cal., Not the 1903. The Winchester M1's are considered top of the line for a reason. It was the 1917's that didn't fit specs when they first started building them, also the M1 Carbines. None of the rifles were bad they just...

    Winchester 70 Heavy Barrel

Unfortunately, Canfield may know the weapons he collects inside and out, but he doesn't understand the tactics the way the users of this weapon do. Him throwing shade on it's value and the value of the specially trained people who use this weapon made me not give a shit about him anymore...

    Which backup-handgun for hunting?

Go to a pistol range local to you, rent said firearms and purchase the ammo and see which one works better for you. Spend some 'little' money finding what works for you as opposed to buying 'big' and maybe not liking it.

Those damn anti-2A gun-destroying Jack Booted Thugs

Well, along with the bright side that you got a beautiful vintage Parker, One has to appreciate the VT Police for not being 'Jack Booted A2A Thugs' and pointing her in the right direction of where to dispose of these firearms. Instead of some places like CA where they WOULD have thrown them...

Chris, Which model are you referring to? For me, why run .308 hot when it still won't do what a manbun, or 7-08 does with normal recoil? Reaching out to distance is not about power, it's about bullet efficiency. The .308 is NOT efficient.

    Winchester 70 Heavy Barrel

Yeah, the Marine Corps said that, Canfield said it didn't much matter. That's where I'm coming from. It mattered!

    Winchester 70 Heavy Barrel

Not exactly a good or flatering read about the M70, or snipers for that matter. Canfield maybe has a dim view of snipers, seeing the low stats of numbers killed. But what he doesn’t see is the value of the targets. Or, the psychological value of sniper kills. Combine that with the fact, that...

Las Vegas smoke shop owner stabs man multiple times

Yeah, sorry. Misunderstanding, I jumped in with both feet not even reading the thread.

Las Vegas smoke shop owner stabs man multiple times

You fuckin' moron. PM was a cop. Mass State Police. He's saying they don't need to go after the store owner. Just look at the evidence first. It was clear numbnuts rights ended as he hopped over the counter. Why don't you give your computer a mag dump so we don't have to see your shit around...

    Redding seating stem bottoming out?

They are supposed to be stupid proof. But, a few of us have managed to defeat that feature. Take a number, and be thankful you caught it when you did.

Gotta love those LPC's (leather personnel carriers) you're rockin' in that shot:

    6.5 X 54 Mannlicher Schoenauer wannabe sniper

No, due to less material in the end of the bullet, VLD's sit below the feed ramp. The thicker round noses (close to the tip) push the center of the bullet tip upwards more.

    6.5 X 54 Mannlicher Schoenauer wannabe sniper

The action itself isn't awkward, It's like the stock was made for a smaller person. And this has a turned down ball type bolt handle, not a butterknife. To me, those are awkward. I hate to do it, but lowering the comb seems to be the only option to get down on the sights. If I then run into...

    6.5 X 54 Mannlicher Schoenauer wannabe sniper

So, I just got hold of this after wanting a Mannlicher Schoenauer rifle for a long time. I wanted one in 6.5 X 54, but would have settled for one in 30-06 or .270 (later models). Anyhow, I stumbled upon this on auction. No one probably bid on it as it was a Greek contract rifle that got...

It don't look to 'hacky' to me. What twist? What are the quality issues for you? I like the stipled grips.

Did they tune these triggers to the point of the match rifles? When shooting standing, you almost can't even feel the trigger break. K-31's have phenomenal triggers anyways, but the match trigger I have is more like a benchrest setting for weight and smoothness.

Unfortunately, Jeff, who founded CDI passed away. The only company that I know of making magazine bottom metal for Mausers is Archangel. Stocks are all 'modern funky', but the magazines work.

    Winchester 70 Heavy Barrel

Yeah, I went and looked at some of them on Gunbroker and it does not look like the early safeties. They had a 'thumb flat' horizontal above the lever. The 'thumb flat' on this one hangs off the lever vertically like modern safeties. So, aftermarket does make sense.
