New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I'm building my first spr, and would like to know what bcg to put in it. White Oak already sent me a matching bolt for their 18" spr barrel. The upper is from them too.
Opinions???
if you were gonna buy two complete uppers, (and could find any one you wanted...) one 16" and one 18" , which ones would you get that would give you the most accuracy for the dollar?
any opinions on what barrel to drop in one of my ARs to gain a little accuracy? 16", preferably 1:7 twist, 1:8 would work too. already threaded, no flash hider installed.
i have a larue quick release scope mount on one of my AR's and love it, but at over $200, they are a little much for what i'm wanting on my next project.
does anyone have a recommendation for a quality quick release scope mount that won't break the bank?
I know it's a little off topic, because it's not really a precision rifle, but it is a bolt gun and I wasn't sure where else to post...
But are there any Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle owners out there? If so, any opinions on the rifle, accuracy, etc?
i'm in the market for a lightweight mountain-type bolt gun, something that will be used only for hunting, capable of making long range shots if needed. as far as calibers, i'm kinda open, but it will be a mid caliber gun (6.5-7mm rounds, kinda in the area of a 280). any suggestions on what to...
there's used 280 that i'm looking at, but don't know a whole lot about the round. i know it's a necked down 30-06, but that's about it. i'd be using it as primarily a hunting rifle, capable of long shots if needed. but i'd like to be able to take it to the bench and stretch it out for fun...

i know very very little about night vision, so if it's a bad deal or a scope i should stay away from, please let me know.
i'm thinking about getting one with the 18" barrel and switchblock. i thought about building my own, but i would be putting one together almost identical to it (switchblock, 1:7, aac hider, etc).
anyone have any opinions on them? how are they in the accuracy department?
On a precision hunting rifle, are they not necessary? I like getting a good cheek weld.
Does anyone even make a lightweight hunting stock with an adjustable comb?
I think I'm gonna go with a Stiller Predator action for my 260 build. You really don't save any money by buying a donor action and having the work done to it. I thought it would be cheaper, but once you start adding everything up its not.
Where should I look to pick one up?
Re: Barrels: Fluting and Contours
i've always wanted to see a fluting weight reduction chart on different barrel contours. one with all kinds of fluting, from shallow straight flutes to deep spiral flutes.
Re: muzzle threading: cap or break?
i'd hope so, it would be nice to be able to leave it on all the time. these aren't precision breaks though, more flash hiders than anything, check em out:

Re: Remington 700 SPS AAC in .300 AAC Blackout
it's pointless to get a bolt gun in 300 blackout.
that round was made and designed specifically to be able to cyle a subsonic round with a suppressor in an AR platform.
buy a 308 700 AAC model and use your can on it with subsonic 308 rounds...
ok so i'm brainstorming my next build, which will be a 260.
i own suppressors, and have an AAC 762SD that i would love to be able to use on the build. however, a 762SD uses an AAC muzzle break/flash hider that has threads on the outside that the can screws on to. so you have to have the AAC...
