    Measuring for Lands

    I am trying to measure for the lands of my rifle. When I insert a dummy round , I get "what looks to be 4 or 5 dirt marks around the bullet, is this the lands contacting the round? And if I want to be .010 from the lands do I use this mark as a reference. Thanks, Lance

    Does the compression of powder alter the chemical composition of the powder? In other words does a compressed load differ from a non- compressed load?

    Just started reloading for a 243. I am using Dtac 115, Lapua brass, CCI primers and Reloder 25. I worked my load up from 46 grains to 47.2 grains and at 47.2 velocity was 2950 fps with no pressue signs. At 47.2 grains the load was compressed.     Rifle Scopes Optic cleaning

    Re: Optic cleaning I saw it at the hide cup. A shooter dusted off his S&B scope lens and it took off the coating. The can sprayed the lens with the freon from within the can.

    I saw the video of how to clean a scope by US Optics. They use compressed air and acetone. Recently I saw a shooter use compressed air on his S&B scope and it destroyed his scope. How would acetone not damage the coating on the lens? How do the hide members clean their rifle scopes? Lance

    Press for 338 lapua

    Re: Press for 338 lapua I use the Co-ax for my .338LM. It works great. I also reload .308 and .260 on it. Never a problem.

    Re: 260 Remington ? I shot a 260 as well and it is the best round I have. I use 139 Scenars Br primers and H4831sc. I settled on 47.5gr. If you decide to use H4831sc start lower and work up.

    260 Rem gas gun

    Just returned from the range. Tried 38.8, 39.2, 39.6, 40.0m and 40.4 of N550 and 139 Scenars from a JP rifle. The 40 and 40.4 gave the best groups with avg. velocity of 2528 and 2570 respectively. Is the velocity enought or should I try for more. Thanks, Lance
