Suppressors So who made the suppressors for Ops Inc?

Ron posted this on Facebook last night:

Sidearms & Scatterguns 40 S&W over 41 Mag for Grizzly Bear Protection?

I've found the 45 to have inadequate penetration on deer. I'd never think to use it on a bear except as a last resort.

Night Vision Advice for the new and low speed

I am curious about a weapon mounted night vision optic that could be mounted in front of an optic on an AR or on a KRG chassis that would allow for good target ID out to 200 yards with illumination for animal control. What options are out there and what kind of pricing am I looking at?

POF Minuteman .308 - cheap, any good?

I was going to share this as well. The vendor is a stand up guy and sells a ridiculous amount of firearms due in part to his low margins.

    Hunting & Fishing Arizona pigs

Last winter I camped east of Black Rock mountain and we walked some of the washes looking for pigs. I found tracks that were fairly recent but didn't see any pigs. We found it hard to spot game due to the density of vegetation and number of washes. We tried to use elevation to our advantage but...

Suppressors .260 Rem. Sub Sonic load

    I wonder if the 160's would stabilize better than a 130-140? http://www.bergerbullets.com/twist-rate-calculator/

    AR bolt wont lock open

Did you build the lower? When you say it locks back fine by hand do you mean on an empty magazine or by manually actuating the catch? I ask because on my first build(in 1998) the bolt catch was binding from an out of spec or poorly installed roll pin.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 40 S&W over 41 Mag for Grizzly Bear Protection?

I would see how much penetration you get with the 40's before considering it. Those are low velocity target loads but the fact they are FMJ might give you more penetration than a JHP. If it were me I'd want a few well placed deep penetrating rounds over twice as many at a fraction of the depth.

New barrel thoughts for my AR

I've been impressed with Compass Lake and WOA. I've shot a fair bit with a WOA 1/7 stainless fluted SPR contour. The WOA shot Federal XM855 or whatever the brown box 62 grain is called way tighter than I though possible with inexpensive ball ammo. With my friends handloads and 75 Hornady's I was...

PIG Skins Barricade Pad is here...

Sticking the velcro to one of the older KAC panels would work well for the picatinny user.

Suppressors So who made the suppressors for Ops Inc?

FWIW the AE30 is a little shorter than the Ops 3rd model, I believe because it is a direct thread instead of brake mounted can.

    "new post quote" notification

Returning the quote favor. I've been notified and the only technique to follow what is being quoted I've found is to go through all my recent posts to find the one quoted. Today that was a failure.

What's your favorite WW2 and older bolt rifle and why?

Far and away the Swede for long range. My buddy has a Yugo M48 that might pass for a K98 that shoots better than some modern bolt guns.

Hunting & Fishing White tail round=to many options ugh

The first deer I shot was with Federal loaded 150 Nosler Ballistic Tips. I didn't know what deer lungs looked like til my second deer. Positively wicked on the internals with a good shot.

    Chainsaw brand??

I have had good luck with Echo saws, one with a 24" bar and one with a 16". I bought them to replace a Stihl on the farm that was problematic. Now I know it was from poor fuel choices and oil additives like the new Husqy that was killed by my lack of knowledge of ethanol fuel.

World record 600 yd. 5 shot group. 0.349"

I'm going out on a limb and by saying that a whole lot less esoteric printed media has gone tits up because the internet, not lack of interest. It was a loss to the community when you look at the quality of the shooting related magazines that still exist.
