Re: Best all around binoculars
We use Swarovski, Vortex Razors, Minox. All are very good binoculars. My brother uses the razor 12x50. They are very nice, but I have not looked through the viper series. I would get the best pair that you can. You will not regret it later.
Re: Binocular power?
Out west where I hunt we glass all the time. We always use a tripod. Most people I hunt with use 12-15 power.
+1 One tip: buy as good as you can afford. The better corrected the glass, the less strain on your eyes. Poorly corrected glass will likely give you a headache.
Re: Loads for 280AI
Powder Valley. $87.25 for 5lbs. You will want to get more powder or get others to go in with you to cut down the $22 hazmat charge.
Re: 7mm-08 w/162 amax and rl17 anyone?
I have used WIN760 and the 162Amax. Barrel lenght was 20in and I was getting 2640fps with it. 760 isnt my first choice in powders, but that is what I had at the time for the 7-08.
Re: Nosler Bal.Tip vs. Hornady A-max
The Amaxs have worked great on all the deer we have shot with them. All one shot kills, and the most one ran was 25yrds. 300-510 yards. 7mm and 30cal.
Re: Conquest or MK4
The Zeiss probaly has better glass, but I would go with the Leupold because it has more internal adj. I also think it is a stronger scope.
Re: Problem with nickle plated 300WM brass
The Nickel is very rough, and very hard. I have had, and also seen a lot of problems while using nickel brass. I will never use it in a bolt gun again. It usually doesnt last as long as normal brass does either. I was told this is due to the nickel...
