New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Here’s another few at the wide end of the chart - I just got the AGM StingIr from a buddy and it’s a bit narrower, but also supports clipon use. Looking forward to taking a closer look.
Got any buddies with NV clipons so you could confirm the beam at distance? Or a place you could try the vis collimating laser process at a few hundred yards at dusk? I’m always a little skeptical of the offset targets without confirming at extended range
Was surprised you were able to get ranges out of the Wilcox unit mounted on top - looked super snug against the objective of the big clip-on. Nice combo for sure - get them talking to each other yet?
Yes I’ve swapped it, and yes you have to re-zero. It’s a mechanical optic just like a scope; you want to make sure it’s zeroed when changing platforms. If it’s on a diving board and you swap the whole rifle scope over to a new gun, it would still be zeroed to the scope, but the gun to scope zero...
I was just laughing at the fact that you assume that tons of people don’t already have them… maybe they’re just abiding by the terms of their NDAs like good dealers 🤓
Yeah that seems like a real bold claim for something with a FoV between the RH25 and the SKEET. Maybe more like 3-4x. Huge jump between there and the LR. Lotta room for a midrange device, but dunno what the market demand is.
The LR sounds real impressive, very similar to xELR but even a bit...
The xELR is probably a bad example because I don’t believe it actually uses the entire screen, but only a 640x subset of it. Others that do use their whole screen can benefit from up-rezzing depending on their algorithms to do so. Software sharpening and upscaling varies pretty widely between...
Agreed on the pixels/degFoV. I’ve used it as a metric to compare optical zoom capability in the clipon options out there. A partial screengrab of a spreadsheet I try to fill in whenever a new unit is getting talked about to help place it in my mind for different applications and which units it...
