    From my limited time owning one, your phone has to be REALLY close to the unit at all times. The range on mine sucked. I wanted my fiancee to be able to watch the action, and she was seated about 5' from me and it would drop all the time. YMMV

    That was my thought as well. Burris thermals are pretty much the same...pretty sure they are just different packaged same units.

    Yes…you have to zero at the zeroing magnifications to be on at 1X, 2X, 4X, and 8X. Trying to remember where to hold on each magnification seems like a lot of effort but if you can do it, do it.     Yes, you will have to zero for 1X 2X 4X and 8X. When you are in the zero menu you should see the ZOOM option.
