*OOPS! Mixed 1 lb. of RL23 & H4350... Will I blow my face off?

You are talking about $40 or so of powder. Less than that really since no one would buy it from you for that price with it being mixes. You aren't going to get any useful data from it since you don't know the true mix ratios. If you are willing to risk yourself, your rifle, and the well-being...

    300 Norma Mag

Sorry for the late reply but I am running the Flatlines. I never posted any load data as I never finished load development before I moved but here is the gist of it: 28" barrel with 1:8" twist 198 gr Warner Flatline N 570 @ 90.4 grs = 3222 FPS @ 88* Federal 215M I still need to screw with...

Rifle Scopes Help me decide which Nightforce scope I want.

None of them. Reticles are my biggest gripe with Nightforce. After all these years, Nightforce still hasn't come up with a simple Christmas tree style reticle. You can either have a fancy crosshair or the way too complicated Horus reticles (that they also upcharge about $800 for and barely...

Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

You should absolutely avoid situations where there is a need for body armor. However, as we see from time to time with riots, looting, and other violent circumstances the situations sometimes find you. At that point it would be worth the few hundred dollars to have the added protection to...

Triple C range in Cresson TX is no permanently closed!

Charlie Beckwith was the commander of my old Infantry battalion during the Vietnam War. Small world.

Triple C range in Cresson TX is no permanently closed!

They said it was $850 per year for membership. You have to be a member or a guest of a member to shoot there so at least it limits the crowd versus allowing non-members to pay for a day like the American Shooting Center down in Houston apparently does for the same membership fee... CCC also...

Triple C range in Cresson TX is no permanently closed!

I just looked up CCC in Millican and called them. They are in fact still open for business and shooting at this moment. Going to go check them out in the next couple weeks. Thanks for the reply Sinister as I thought CCC was extinct.

Triple C range in Cresson TX is no permanently closed!

Their website says 300 in one spot and 600 in another while photos online say 1000. I don't know honestly. Thanks Sinister, good to still see you around. Millican is down the road from Navasota. Did CCC have two ranges or just shift operations?

Triple C range in Cresson TX is no permanently closed!

So I just moved to the Conroe area right as this was happening and need a long distance range to shoot. I just saw American Shooting Centers has a 1000 yard range but they are down by Katy. Anyone have any ideas? Has there been any progress towards Triple C perhaps being able to re-open?

    An active duty AR commentary.

I always add a slight amount of lube to my fingers and run it along the outside of the buffer and the buffer spring. Not so much that it will collect dirt but enough to help it glide. Otherwise you can bet that the aluminum buffer tube will start to get scratched and get that gritty sound and...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

I just checked several sites and no one seems to have powders or primers currently. More or less, I'm tagging this post to participate and get notifications.

Double bullet lodged - how to finish removal?

This is a good time to re-iterate that when dealing with supersonic ammo you work up to the desired velocity whereas with subsonic ammo you work down to the desired velocity. It prevents this shit from happening.

Range Report 77smk as sd round

In general it takes about 2400-2600 fps to get a projectile to cause cavitation which is what causes massive internal organ damage. Your 2200ish muzzle velocity puts you below that already. Your stated goal of 200-300 yards will be far below that. If you don't want the expense of buying...

    Rifle Scopes New Leupold Reticle

In the off chance Leupold pays attention to these threads, I'll put in my two cents that I also hope they get the PR2 reticle illuminated and into the 3.6‐18 Mk5 soon. I have two precision ARs that this scope and reticle combo would be perfect for. I've held off for far too long because I...

Night Vision L3Harris BNVD (1531) Now Available for Commercial Sale at TNVC!

This was our experience as well. We rarely ran the lithiums in our devices as some units would not work with them. We usually saw around 3-4 hours of single-battery use with conventional batteries. The military also gets cheap batteries so maybe name-brand would do a little better.

Night Vision L3Harris BNVD (1531) Now Available for Commercial Sale at TNVC!

Sure, go ahead. It is new and won't be released for about another 9 months for purchase but tell me all about how you have owned several of them for years.

Night Vision L3Harris BNVD (1531) Now Available for Commercial Sale at TNVC!

You may get "16 hours" with a single AA battery with the unit turned on but I'd bet that is under ideal conditions with the tube brightness so low that the NVG is useless. Field experience has shown me that single battery use is consistently short-lived, but go ahead and tell me your...

Night Vision L3Harris BNVD (1531) Now Available for Commercial Sale at TNVC!

You better hope the battery packs become available. Not only for the counterbalance they offer but because they drain a single battery quite quickly.

The PVS-31 was my favorite NVG to use while I was in. Hopefully I'll manage to get a set of these before long.
