New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I got a hands on look at these at SHOT. There wasn't ANYTHING I didn't like about them. They truly are some impressive scopes. The way the internals are designed as well are pretty innovative with hardened metals where they need to be and dual detents for the adjustments over single which is...
He just got back late this evening from SHOT. I passed this thread along so I'm sure you will have some answers shortly. I know getting barrels from PVA for the Barloc won't be a problem but I'm not sure on pricing. I'm sure he will jump in tonight or tomorrow.
What do you mean by legit? I'm sure any color stock with a black action and barrel will look legit. Just google MPA chassis or PRS and look at google pics. Lots of people running them.
Good luck man. I remembering ordering a scope 3 or 4 years ago from you last minute before one of my first PRS matches and you called me while on family vacation to make sure I received my scope in time. That's what I call service.
I've been doing this with a Kahles 624i for 3 or 4 years now. Run it in ARC M10 rings and haven't had problems. I keep the offsets handy in my phone, mark on the rails where it sits and just rezero the turrets when I switch rifles. I don't use the offsets feature in the ballistic computer since...
Did you resize all the brass before loading or did you just load it and shoot? I'm guessing if you didn't once you provide the proper bump things will work out. I have the same action. Were any of them hard to close on when chambering as well?
It was my understanding, and I could be wrong, that the Gen 1's were before the MSR-K reticle were available. The gen1s weren't around long. The gen 2s had upgraded glass a little I believe or coatings I think to deal with CA. They both had the knurled knobs like the pic above. The parallax knob...
After f-ing with 2 serpentine belts and E6000 I ordered a real belt from Al Bino at Flat Drive Belts.com. Sent him measurements and he sent back a similar rubber belt that was already cut and ready for glue. He sent along a 2 part glue that worked awesome. Way better than E6000. It was only...
Josh just the other day announced that he's doing PVA now full time on IG I believe. Originally it was a part time thing for him but due to an overwhelming response to the quality of work he's putting out he's seen it fit to quit his engineering job and concentrate on it full time. Between that...
It's easy to get wrapped up in all the numbers and little things that might gain you tenths of an inch on paper. In a match things are different. Mostly steel, plenty big. Know your rifle, pick a load and learn to trust it. It's 90% shooter. I too am running a PVA 6.5 CM. Shooting Prime at the...
Josh Kunz over at a Patriot Valley is the brain behind the Flatlines. He just started doing barrel nuts and profits for Tikkas I would call him.
I personally like the Tikka actions. They are pretty fantastic out of the box. Plus Manners makes some nice stock for them now too.
That looks nice Jon. What does one of those setups run? How much are the stencils too? I looked on their site but didn't see prices.

That course really spells out the basics as well as more advanced stuff. Real easy to follow and go to back to for reference. Mr. Holland is a great teacher.
Speaking of great videos STR himself has a whole set of videos related to Gunsmithing and chambering. I think they are still...
