    In your shoes, I would look at the Leupold Mark 5HD and Burris XTR3. Maybe the Nighforce NX8 if you want three to compare. All have great military discounts and have been on a diet.

    CZ Shadow 2 OR. Plenty of footprint for even a SRO and threaded barrels are available. I set one of those up just last month for my brother in law.

    If I were building up a one and done rifle, I would give Swarovski a hard look, specifically their upper tier, Z8i in either the 1-8x24mm or more likely, the 1.7-13x42mm. If FFP were a must, I would be looking at Kahles, and Leupold has some of those magnification ranges in their VX-6 and Mark 6...

    Good choice. I use a Metcalf as my winter ruck at work and love it. I emphasize winter because that's where it excels, VOLUME. Way too much volume that I want for a match or anything but a back county hunt. The Sawtooth has the same super-comfy frame system and less volume, it should serve you well.

    Steel targets with great paint jobs. Less set up expense to make one-offs. Coins and patches are cost prohibitive to order in low quantities. Maybe some Yeti 28oz or 48oz water bottles. You can have Yeti engrave them or get naked bottles and have them custom cerakoted locally.

    Your cert is still way better than the .mil price. If I were in your shoes, I would look at the BX-5 Santiam 15x56mm Binos. I love my Mark 4 spotter, but I use my 15x binos far more often.

    I was issued a CQC7 before the wave and when Y2K was a thing. No issues with it, but I never worked it hard. Like others, I'm almost entirely fixed blade now. There's Mora pro or pro chisel in almost every drawer in the house. It keeps them handy and keeps the wife from using my kitchen blades.
