New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I’ve owned a few larue products. An OBR, both large and small. Two predatOBR’s and a large frame UU in 6.5.
The large frame UU was the problem child. The first one I received was horrible. After assembling it the fit to the larue lower was horrible. The over all quality was pretty bad. I sent it...
I have installed a proof barrel into a Seekins platform upper with no issues. It is head spaced to a JP high pressure bolt and variable weight carrier. The gas block is a SLR adjustable. It’s a 6.5 creed and shoots very well.
It will fit as the barrel extension is essentially the same and the hand guard fits around that. There is plenty of room under the hand guard for a pretty heavy barrel taper.
Just know you will probably have to use a different bolt and possibly a carrier to go with it. Most people who swap to...
I’m looking at adding a small camp axe to my kit for my hunting and camping.
Anyone own one? What are your thoughts? Maybe for me it’s the novelty of owning a family heirloom quality hand forged axe but I would really like to have one.
My advise is sell you existing glass and buy another in the correct reticle.
Schmidt used to charge 500 for the swap and keep your old reticle.
Last time I checked it had gone up to 750ish, if I remember correctly. That’s not worth it for me.
Honestly I see little to no value in that brake. For the price you can get two rugged mounts.
I do see you getting the “jet blast“ brake but wiry the mount for use with the suppressor. So why use the brake when you can use your suppressor.
I do underatand some people want to use a brake...
I’ve had a .338 built on a BAT tactical action from Wolf precision. Its a solid action and if I did it again would go the same route. For me it was a choice for me between a surgeon and BAT.
I have owned a Stiller also. I still own one, its a short action. It again is a very good action. For the...
I’ve had my run in with atomic.
Stay away from it. I had poor accuracy and wide pressure variations. Velocity was all over the place.
I contacted atomic and they replaced it with another lot. This second lot has mil surplus brass and grouped all over the place.
For the price I would...
Personally I have been waiting for the 4-32 with Mil-XT since they were announced. It’s going on a DT A2 in 6.5 creed and 300 Norma. I was wondering why MF didn’t offer all the reticles from the get go.
One other scope to consider it the nightforce nx8 2.5-20 at 28 oz.
So far the reviews have been favorable and it being NF it will hold up to just about anything you can imagine.
The vortex PST in my option has no place on a trunk gun or shrf rifle. They have not been the most durable optic...
So here are some things I have noticed since starting to tumble with SS pins.
Yes I do get case mouths that have been peened. Not so much burrs but the mouths will be dulled and flattened compared to my trimmed and chamfered brass.
I will say that the brass has been essentially shot peened...
