    Sidearms & Scatterguns Handguns...show 'em

The mount was made by a local ‘Smith in Cape Cod Mass. back in 1988-89 so I didn’t have to drill and tap the Medalist rib. I am sure he has retired since then His name is Ed Gagnon and I want to say his shop was in Yarmouth Mass.

    Old Falling Blocks

It shot OK but I have been led to believe a 2 piece firing pin is not good for Ballard’s and finally after searching for one gave up and picked up a file. The two pieces at 10 o’clock or so in the dish should be a one piece unit and look like a funny upside down U

    Old Falling Blocks

Currently making a new firing pin for this Marlin-Ballard Forged not cast action the barrel is off a different rifle but the breechblock matches the action numbers. Was a .40 cal then got sleeved to .22LR and the Double Set trigger is still amazing for a135 year old or so rifle. The...

    Square to target

Nah, thinner target means thinner groups for best groups you have to wet the target and mold it around a basketball so it is thinner for windage AND elevation.... it all looks 2D to me When in Doubt the answer is more dry fire.

Anybody Trim Pistol Brass? On a Dillon?

Threadcutter, it isn't as big a problem as one might think with pistol brass I taper crimp everything including range finds in 9mm, 38 Super .45ACP and none of it has ever failed either a chamber check or a cartridge gauge drop check. I have never had a round spin or setback with a taper crimp...

Anybody Trim Pistol Brass? On a Dillon?

Only pistol brass I ever trimmed were .38 Specials for my S&W M52-2 Extremely accurate works of hand fitted art however they can be the fussiest semi autos I have ever seen but then they have the capability of putting 5 rounds into 2" at 50 yards ( S&W Guaranteed it,and has the test target on...

How many guns do you own?

the formula is "N-1" whereas N is the value that would cause separation from spouse or significant other otherwise it is N +1 meaning always room for one more.. time for another safe as I have to keep moving things around to fit them in current safe ( which would be the value of X )

    Sidearms & Scatterguns S&W Model 41 vintages

they never wear out, grew up shooting one that had a 4 digit serial # no letters ( 7" with factory brake and weights and it also had a factory 5" field barrel ) traded off one season for a 41-1 (Dads guns) that shot shorts before buying my own gun, a Browning Medalist and when you shoot bulls...

Any Bicyclists here to give advice?

+1 on the good fitting and finding a good bike shop weight of the bike/components isn't as important as some make it until you are way up in the racing ranks think of it this way I weigh 207 the bike and related items (flat kit, bottles, computer etc.) is maybe 10-11% of that my ideal weight...

Bolt handle lifts after pulling trigger

bolt bounce the cause since no cartridge to tension the assembly when the hammer falls ? always seems to need a bit more effort to close on a casing so this would be my guess. Been dry firing for over 25 years if anything the .22s would maybe develop a burr since the fp hits the breech face...

Rifle Scopes Chem Lite reticle Illumination?

saw one once looked like a fiber optic archery sight tube and a mini light velcroed to the sunshade the fiber optic bent around and went almost to the lens and according to the poster lit the reticule without blinding the user. maybe that might move you in the direction you are looking
