    Install a detatchable Mag

Re: Install a detatchable Mag I have a B&C Medalist A2 stock for my SPS Tactical. Are any of the DBM systems drop in for this combination, or am I going to have to do some inletting no matter what?

Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168?

Re: Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168? Thanks guys. Looks like 2550 might be my best answer.

Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168?

Re: Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168? I'm no expert either. But I assume the 20" will be quite a bit lower than your 26" gun. Thanks for the info though, I will be interested to see how much difference there is between the two.

Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168?

Re: Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168? Sorry I thought the SPS Tactical .308's were all 20". Mine is the 20" barrel.

Muzzle Velocity, SPS Tactical and FGMM 168?

I don't have a chronograph but I thought I would check to see if any of you guys have tested this combination before? I figure that would be closer for inputting to a ballistics program than what is on the box, which I think is 2650? Thanks.

Bottom metal for R700 sps tactical

Re: Bottom metal for R700 sps tactical Sorry if this comes off as a thread hijack, but it might help the OP with his issue. Do any of the DBM systems work with the Bell & Carlson stocks without gunsmithing on the SPS Tactical?

    Steel Target Size

Re: Steel Target Size If you keep painting the plate white to cover the old hits, you might be able to spot them. Not sure.

    Steel Target Size

Re: Steel Target Size Thanks guys. Sounds like my target is a little too ambitious maybe. I'll start with something like what you have suggested, and keep this one as something to work up to, or maybe for shorter ranges. A full size silhouette would be cool. Any companies make something...

    Steel Target Size

Not sure if this is the right section or not. What is an acceptable size for a target (steel plate) for a beginner to work on shooting at longer ranges, say 500 to 800 yds? I don't want it to be too big to make it overly easy, but it would be a nice confidence booster to actually hit it... My...

Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle!

Re: Here she is! My 1st Precision rifle! I don't think that the 30-06 is bad at all. The only mark against it compared to the .308 is lesser availability of different factory match ammunitions to try. If you're going to reload I don't see how it would be a problem at all.

Re: AIAX- 1000 round update Not much to add, just wanted to say hello to a fellow Mainer. Where do you shoot long range?

    First Precision Rifle

Re: First Precision Rifle Yes, I will be working further back for sure in the near future. I don't have all the tools to do a really good job figuring ballistics. My program told me to do 6.9 MOA but it ended up being closer to 6.25 MOA. It was close enough to hit on the first shot at that...

    No V-bed on the B&C?

Re: No V-bed on the B&C? Ah good point. Didn't even think of a colored marker. That would probably look a little better than the bare fiberglass. And yes mine is the green finish.

    First Precision Rifle

Re: First Precision Rifle Just an update...tried shooting at a "longish" range (425 yds) for the first time. It was windy (10 MPH, maybe more at times at 10 o'clock) and I didn't have a good point of aim on the plate as the paper target blew off on the first shot. But I was pleased I hit...

My First...with pics! (update w/range report)

Re: My First...with pics! (update w/range report) Nice job. How did your action fit in the B&C A2? I mentioned in another post right near this one but my bolt rubs the stock a little bit. Didn't know if you had the same issue.

    No V-bed on the B&C?

Re: No V-bed on the B&C? I'm pretty certain the bolt is closing all the way, I was more concerned with it interfering with the action in some way to reduce accuracy. I don't know if that is a concern or not...I'm new at this to be honest. Kind of sucks having to sand it since it rubs the...

    No V-bed on the B&C?

Re: No V-bed on the B&C? One thing I did notice with mine is that the bolt handle touches the stock. I've sanded it down some to clear it but it's still really close. That's with an SPS Tactical. Anyone else have that problem?
