What 22lr ammo should I be looking at?

Yes, the CCI SV shoots well in general but I experienced a flier, one every 6 or 7 rounds. Out of curiosity, did any of the subsonic ammo you tested extract a non fired cartridge? CCI SV was the only one in my testing that didn’t and want to test the theory of a tight chambering equals more...

    SK vs Lapua ammo lube

Thanks for sharing your experiences. The POI change happens whether I let the barrel cool or not, as in even if I load the next magazine and start shooting the Center X. @ 50 yds, the SK rifle match is mid .3 consistently and the center x is low .3 after the first group, and the B14r shoots CCI...

    SK vs Lapua ammo lube

Interesting. Have you considered checking your action torque settings or scope base/ring torque? It could also be a carbon ring. Easy things to check before spending $50 mailing it in. I've not noticed a significant shift when either Cz or Bergara shoot the same ammo, i.e. no cold bore shift...

    SK vs Lapua ammo lube

From various threads in this forum, it appears that SK and Lapua ammo lube may be the same slippery frog snot. However, when I was testing ammo on the Cz457 and Bergara b14r, I noticed something strange. I used SK Std + and SK Rifle Match as the "seasoning" rounds before switching to Lapua when...

Help needed - how to minimize heart beat movement out when shooting groups

True, perhaps it's the rifle breaking in or perhaps it's the nut behind the trigger. So I shortened up the LOP .25" which helped me get the rifle more centerline towards the near half of my collar bone. The Cz and the Bergara now have similar LOP. Interestingly, this makes the buttstock...

Help needed - how to minimize heart beat movement out when shooting groups

At the doctor's office last week was 120s/70s, so hopefully that's not the issue. There was an advice for a shooting jacket. Maybe something to consider in the winter but not with the 87 deg with 70% hum. Also, I can make my heart stop just by thinking about how I'm going to pay for groceries...

Help needed - how to minimize heart beat movement out when shooting groups

Thanks for the advice. Shooting to practice NRL22 / PRS22. But also enjoyed the 6x5 group shoots. I tuned the Center X and it was hammering 5/8" at 100 yards. But my Stock CZ Pro Varmnt out shoots it... Glad I didn't sell that o e to fund this open build. At a local match, they do a mad...

Help needed - how to minimize heart beat movement out when shooting groups

My groups seem to have gone to the birds recently. Changed over to an open class build with a B14r but my groups are meh. Set up: B14r, Arken ep5, Atlas CAL, ATS tuner, filled rear bag, 50 & 100 yrs outdoor range Center X and Sk rifle match. My ARA bench production scores were around 2350 with...

What 22lr ammo should I be looking at?

Just saw this after posting on a b14r related ammo post. Example groups below, CCI SV shot well out to 200yds and was tightest in the chamber (would not extract an informed cartridge when chambered). YMMV, happy shooting.

50 yard ammo test with a Bergara b14r

Tested out various ammo on a stormy gusty day, 6-10MPH switchy tail wind. When chambered, all cartridges left an imprint of the rifling. All ejected without being stuck in the chamber except CCI SV. The CCI SV also shot decent out to 200yds but I had to dial in an aaditional .3 Mils of...

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

I used painters tape on the front edge of the magazine to virtually eliminate the slop. Zero feed or eject issues during a PRS22 match last weekend. Aluminum tape in the front edge of the mag well may be an option as well. YMMV, happy shooting

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Awesome. Love the color and the Bergara logo on the chassis. Looking forward to the results.

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Followed tuning advice here: Got results at 50, then tested out at 100. 1 1/3 turns did the trick. Turning it by 2 ticks would have cost me at least a full box, but with this I had it dialed in after 12 rounds. 50 yr groups in the .2s and 5 shot groups x3 at 100 averaged .693" (.667 MOA)...

    Vudoo Rifleworks Q&A

Came across this video released recently from Vudoo. Tons of good knowledge bombs dropped here about precision rimfire. I for one learned a lot and someone wanting to get started in rimfire precision may benefit. YMMV, happy shooting

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Yes, my spigot is aluminum. The steel version not only will increase rigidity but also balance the rifle with my stock Bergara steel barrel. Cheers,

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Additional testing and observations: 1. The spigot mount is interesting. It provides a geometric advantage by placing the bipod further ahead and closer to the bore axis but there is definitely flex in the system. It likes a very light cheek weld, otherwise my heart beat is transmitted and...

Maggie’s Baldwin + Firearm Safety Part Deux

Daily Mail = right leaning UK news/tabloid. High likelihood that the twit that posted this Tweet knows as much about firearms as the actor holding it…

Maggie’s Baldwin + Firearm Safety Part Deux

Don't know how this was covered previously... Or possibly buried in the Socially unacceptable thread, but I think I'll just leave it right over here and go find cover.

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Beautified rifle, range, and photo composition. What barrel is on it and how does she shoot?

    NRL22/PRS22 chassis/stock recommendations for B14R

Swirling tail winds but I think that the Center X wins at both 50 and 100 yds. I think it will do fine for NRL22/PRS22, but may improve a bit more with tuning. Thanks for following along, YMMV and happy shooting
