    Nothing wrong with aluminium for a centerfire can. Not ideal for high volume string shooting (e.g. competition) but perfectly adequate for hunting.

    Is it worth buying a Magneto speed if you're shooting factory ammo?

    Why is it such a problem if there is POI shift? Why are people so fixated on this as an issue with the magneto speed? Strap it on and run ~5 rounds through, take it off and carry on about your day.

    It's appealing to me because it isn't horrifically light - and could therefore serve double duty on a hunting rifle.

    I run 46.2gr H4350, 143gr ELDX , Lapua brass, Federal match primers. 2742 FPS in a 20" barrel.

    Crappy options for 10rd magazines is the main drawback for LA. If you can solve that, go for it! I love my 6.5x55.

    Statistical Zero

    From a statistics point of view, some of the sample sizes we shooters use is laughable. Standard Deviation being one that comes to the front of my mind. That's not to say though that a 3 or 5 shot group isn't meaningful however!

    Get a bipod and go practise. I figure it's better to work out what you need from actually shooting the match, rather than speculating and wasting money.

    Would be great to have more granular control of units (my gripe with just about every ballistic calculator) - e.g. when using metric, I don't know my barrel twist in cm!

    I also have a 20" swede, 2740 ish with the 143gr ELD-X. 8lb on the dot!
