New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Just wondering what has the better eye box at full power?
It’s going to be used mostly at full power for gongs and long range medium sized game.
I know the NSX is sfp but still interested in opinions on the eye box.
I have a Gen 1 Ares Btr and the turrets are disappointing. Athlon listened though and have since improved them on the newer model BTR, ETR and Midas Tac.
It's weird that the Cronus is still lacking the tactile feel required when feedback has been so strong.
Loving the eye box chat.
My pet hate on the Ares BTR is the eye box at top magnification.
Can't wait for these to hit the shelves as there are some serious choices in the mid-price range now.
3-18x56 FFP
4.5-27x50 FFP
5-30x56 FFP
Would like to see a floating dot ret with a tree in mil formation APRS 1 Style .2 mil
I use my rifle mainly for hunting so appreciate the dot and love it even more for gongs at distance.
That's a long ass barrel to carry!
A stock would make a huge difference especially if you have flush cups on the side and one of those TAB biathlon slings.... you may not need the drop in scope weight....
Can I ask why you want a lighter scope? Doesnt look like your rifle is a hunting rig but I walk a fair bit with my ESS chassis around the area we hunt so some people do carry heavy rigs occasionally.
I'm currently going over the pro's and cons of the Cronus, ETR, Optika 6 and Gen 2 Razor as I...
Forgot to ask about cleaning also?
Worth asking just to narrow down any possible oversight as they’re pretty easy to do when we just wanna shoot the tight group!
Try the 130 from Prime?
Those groups don’t sound too good and certainly suggests a small issue somewhere if they continue. Make sure there is nothing touching the barrel hidden somewhere in the channel?
I’m using the 130g Creedmoor load from Norma and it shoots nicely so maybe Norma is an...
A mate has the 2.5-15x56 with the turret upgrade. I try not to look through it every time I visit but it calls my name..... some of the nicest glass I have looked through.
Wanna look through the Optika line so bad!!
B14 HMR or the Tikka Line up depending on your use really.
Triggers in the Tikka are excellent and normally very accurate out of the box. The Bergara has more adjustment in the stock and looks to be very accurate. Also is the Rem 700 footprint so stocks are easy to find.
Check out Franks...
Another vote for the Arisaka tool. Have found it to be most excellent so far.
If your scope is super low to the rail it does create a challenge though!
I am in the market for a new scope and have used the Meo Pro 4-12x50.
A mate owns a couple of different models and they always impress with clarity and eye box so I have already hit the dealer up for when they arrive here in NZ.
Was gonna get a ETR or Razor but this will hopefully fit the...
Hey man, I have a superlight in the MDT - ESS Chassis. It's a really nice fitting chassis and allows for plenty of adjustment.
Should be a vendor in Aus (Cleaver?) that sells what ever you want and that barrel should run really well wit the heavier projectiles too.
I have owned the S-Tac and have an Ares BTR.
From what I read the Ares and Midas Tac share the same glass quality? If so then the Midas is your best bet as the tracking looks to be excellent on the reviews that I have read and seen.
I found the Sightron too washed out and lacking warmth for my...
