Bought a Savage for a build... Second guessing myself.

Dude, I have had both the Tikka and Savage in various models. For a DIY option, the Savage is hard to go past. Mine were also really accurate with factory barrels that preferred being dirty rather than shiny. The Tikka is likely to be very accurate and with handloads could most likely meet...

i want to change the stock and magazine on my savage

Welcome mate. When you are after a stock or any part on here it helps if you mention a budget and what you will be using it for. If you are after a really decent stock for Savage then from my experience you normally end up paying a bit more unless you are handy with the DIY options...

Building a rifle for the wife..............and me

Another vote for the .243 Pretty slick round for what you are after and no real recoil. It will also perform better if you do decide to reload and you will like... wait... I mean, your wife will love that round.

    6.5 Help

I'm looking for anyone who knows about or has used 6.5 Projectiles that like being seated deep in the case. I'm currently building a 6.5/284 on a Short Action. I know that a long action would be better but I have gone ahead with the build... The Wyatts extended mag box and PTG Canoe bottom...

I think my favorite .222 700VS is shot out...what would you build?

Rebarrel boss! If you love that round then stay on it... otherwise go 22-250 for some fun. What ranges are you looking to shoot and what is the purpose? That would most likely determine your twist ratio.

    Thank you to Stocky Stocks

Very cool. Nice to hear that old fashioned customer service is still alive and kicking in an age where the internet means faceless robots can hide behind rules and regulations. Well done Stockys. Gotta say that my dealings with them via email have always been courteous and fast.

New to Long Range, looking for advice between these two rifles

Just my opinion but it might be worth looking into Howa also. Good solid actions and still plenty of upgrades available... and at the right price too.

    .260 build underway.

Man... had a few issues before we even started!! Basically the company I use to send my gear home to NZ has closed down. All the components inside are being held... so that means my Bolt and all the parts for it are held as well as the Stock and Vortex Viper HS-T that I bought from a member on...

    Choate Tactical Stocks

Solid Stock... Great for the bench.. If you are "Mr Big Hands".. Sheesh man.... I really struggled to get a grip of mine. I'm not small just average 5'11 180 pounds, normal sized hands and just could not get comfy. Get the Boyds as mentioned... pillar bed it and you can take the grip size down...

    Spiral fluted barrels....let's see them.

Mate, You can't just flaunt those around... they're terrible. Hand them over to me and I'll take those nasty things away.... Man I wish I lived in the USA... Paul, you would have %75 of my pay check every week.
