Ballistics calculators don't match real world observation

Dont ever trust those lying ass bullets. They always give terrible feedback. Always claiming to go where physics told them.

    Leupold mark 5?

Having run both the xtr 3 and the mark 5: the fov is better with the xtr3 I think the glass and turrets go to the mark 5. Toss up on reticle. I had too many tracking issues with 2 different xtr3s otherwise they win. Burris did a great job of getting them turned around, maybe the best i have...

Rifle Competition Events What would you change or do differently with current competitions/organizations?

Precision rifle is too small to get huge divisions. The production class is a joke. Why try to split it more? Do cash payout based on finish. Top tier/ 33%/66% down. 70%/17.5%/12.5% of the pot. Keeps the midlevel guys with some return and takes the pressure off of the sponsors. If any sponsors...

Rifle Competition Events What would you change or do differently with current competitions/organizations?

NRL hunter matches would likely align better with your program.

    Most obnoxious muzzle brake

I am also in the to hell with brakes program. The can definitely moves more, but I do not have the tension and anticipation of a brake. I am running a sico omega, and waiting on a KGM to see if they are better with recoil. What can do you see the best impulse with? I think the concussion is...

    Bore Tech Suppressor cleaner

I have been running straight clr soak. It works, but is slow. Plugging the can with an ear plug. Pretty sure the CLR is why my end cap is getting a blown out hole.

Gunsmithing Bolt closes hard on go guage

You think the headspace was causing accuracy issues? With brass sized from that chamber? Do you believe this was from the sizing die not matching the chamber, or for another reason? Is it possible the chamber or mounting had another issue? This is an interesting case. Thanks

WA, OR and ID sniper challenge type matches?

Check out the club precision rifle matches, the RTC series, and the NRL hunter series. All varying levels of what you are asking for.

Gunsmithing Bolt closes hard on go guage

If it closes on go gauge, good to go. I headspace all my rifles at the 0-.002" range. Generally means you can feel the headspace guage. The only risk you run, is factory ammo not fitting. It takes somewhere in the .020" over 0.000" to get case failure.

PRS Talk Adjusting wind calls on the fly

Same on wind brackets. I like 3 brackets. Max, min and what i think is average(initial wind call). Sometimes 5 brackets, but that is alot to process. Make sure to check angle(of wind) and terrain for each target. If you send your first rounds and watch, you get the intel you need. Then adjust...

NRL hunter setup - what would you do?

Absolutley. This competition is setup to practice the tougher hunting shots. The guys doing well, shoot alot. Oddly enough that correlates to more hits. This comp is designed to get the average hunter a lifetime of shooting opportunities in one weekend.

    .22 br

All lapua. My 6BRA is the same brass. It is on 10+ now. No issue. For some reason the .22 started giving me distance shenanigans late in the barrel. BRA not so much.

    .22 br

It did not want to size back well. The shoulders would be very inconsistent, even with annealing. This was leading to poor sd, and pretty good variation past 800 yards. It still shot well at 100. All the brass was annealed multiple times and neck turned after sizing down. I pulled that barrel...

    .22 br

@padom i have a long neck PTG reamer as well, if you want to use it. .22 BR is a good round, but i had trouble with my brass staying consistent when i got to the 1800-2k mark. I believe I had 200 pieces of brass, so somewhere in the 8-10 firing location. 7 twist is the ticket.

    Alpha 6BRA brass?

Fireforming is rediculous, but Alpha is a badass american company. I would say get th alpha and shoot like the wind. If you cant get it Lapua is good. No bad options.

    I'm having trouble with length

Seriously though, if it is indeed that much jump, dont sweat it. Most bullets go in and out of accuracy as you move farther out. The locations seem to vary. Do Mark Gordons length test in lengths that fit in your mag, and you will find something.

    I'm having trouble with length

You can jump .200" and be accurate. You need to learn to live with the length you have. Pulling on it wont change the effect.

    Is it my OCD or

Zero does not matter when checking to see what a rifle/ load combo are capable of. Its also better to not hit your point of aim when working up loads. After it runs, correct it to zero an roll. Good luck on it being gnats ass staying on that zero. Also posting groups is on the edge of useless.
