    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

My FFL was home to take delivery of my rifle today, so now I am just waiting for him to call and let me know it is ready to be picked up!

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

My FFL was not home at the time the UPS guy came by... now I have to wait till Monday. I had a SWFA SS 10-42 w/ the side focus a couple years ago, loved it. If I casnnot decide on the long term glass, the SS will get me on the range and serve me well.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

It is part# 18004, which shows to be Gen2. Ruger is currently showing part# 18028 which I assume to be the newer Gen3 (?) The only difference right off is the handguard in the image.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I ended up picking up the 308 variant from Grab A Gun at $989. Probably should have called to see what Generation rifle it is before I placed the order...

    Sniper's Hide Swag?

Thanks for the reply and PM Lowlight, I will keep an eye out for the "spring collection" when the store re-opens.

    Sniper's Hide Swag?

I watch many of the videos on the Sniper's Hide YouTube channel, and see some swag being proudly displayed. Where can a guy from the "peanut gallery" get some of the Sniper's Hide swag? Especially if it can help to support the website (?)

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

Tempting, 6mm Creedmore for $799 at Grabagun: https://grabagun.com/ruger-72.html Never mind... I did not realize that 6mm Creedmoor and 6.5 Creedmoor were different calibers. I assumed that the 6mm was an abbreviated reference to 6.5. Much to learn...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

That is info I had not run across yet; I did not realize that the calibers shared the same bolt. Thank you for the gem! These are good ideas; getting the 308 first, then re-barrel later with 6.5C. The more I learn about this rifle, the more I know it is the right way to go. I have looked at...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

A dilemma that I find myself faced with is whether or not to go 308 or 6.5C. I have a number of components to start reloading for 308 like; LC match cases, CCI primers and various powders, but I have nothing for the 6.5C. I would like to shoot 100 - 500yds starting out, but as my confidence...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I am returning to long range shooting after a 4 or 5 year hiatus, and fully had plans to build a Rem 700... and then I run across the Ruger Precision Rifle, and I gotta say that I am in a whirlwind of playing catch up. Analysis Paralysis is what I have here. Definitely torn, I can do a lot...

I had this really recognizable tiger striped gun stolen. Can you watch for it?

Good read; I love stories where the people prevail, and justice (karma) is served.

Show your shame: Safe Queens Edition!

My queen is a 1942 WRA M1 Garand; she is mostly correct, but more importantly this Winchester built Garand has the original WWII barrel in shootable condition; ME=2; TE=2. I have shot her once this year, and do not see taking her out much more in the fore-seeable future...

    Rem 700 TAC 16.5" versus 700 5R in .223

I picked up a .223 Remington Model 700 Tactical Cerakote w/5R rifling. The r4ifle came factory with a medium weight varmint barrel, 24" long with fluting. I love this rifle, it shoots sub MOA easily at 100. I have also owned a Remington SPS Tactical in .308, and although I selected the wrong...

Any reason you never see builds on Winchester Actions?

I nearly pulled the trigger on this rifle to do a build on... Really wanted the 30-06 in this configuration and model: Winchester 70 Target 30-06 CIRCA 1965 : Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com I figured it was not a bad price with the match sights included.

Remington 700 Recall on X-Mark Pro Triggers

Same here, and the store I bought the rifle from played dumb about the recall... !Timmy!" trigger and I was on the field. Replacement was as simple as removong and replacing the two pins. I purchased straight from SWFA, so my trigger came with whatever the stock setting is... shoots great...

    New Timney trigger

Same issue with my Timney install... Try these ideas for a fix: Check that the front pin isn't *dragging* on the bolt release (on the inner side) Adjust the tension screw for the bolt release slide I did both of these, and the bolt release would return to position with ease. I bought the...

Model 700 Tactical Cerakote in 223

Thanks, looks like we are struggling to get a summer put together here in the South, so looks like the weather will be nice this weekend for some range time... Thank you... With the medium weight Varmint barrel, this rifle balances out really nice. I'm really surprized how natural the wide...
