    Only problem with a custom action, its extremely hard to go back to a normal rem 700. Seriously I think, if you can swing the custom go for it, and then you will not wonder what if. The more times I do a build, I try to do it right the first time so I don't build it twice.

    I have a Leupold vx-6hd 3-18x50 and it is a great hunting scope that dials with perfect. Great at dusk and dawn, light in weight and plenty of elevation. Mine has the impact 29 with illumination from the custom shop, which allows for easy hold over or dialing.

    12.7 lbs as it sits. We did not get a weight before. I think you could save another pound off by switching the metal chassis hand guard to the plastic one and switching rings. I was going to keep some weight on it for gathering dope and then probably see how light I can also make it.

    I never got a exact answer but my year old ERS is better than my three year old DMR. Same power range but the ERS has better clarity and low light performance.
