Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25x56

A VX5HD and Mark5HD dont have much of anything in common other than 5X magnification and fast diopter. There is no Mark5 nonHD. While the VX5HD and PSTII may be similar in overall quality, they are different slightly in almost every way. The Mark5HD is better than the VX5HD and VX3i...

Rifle Scopes Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 or 3-15x44

One of my co-workers has a 3-15×44 another the 5-25×50, both purchased based off my recommendation. The 3-15×44 is in a better wheelhouse for the glass and the eyebox is less tight, but the 5-25×50 is what you want, for the type of shooting you are doing. While the eyebox is a little tight on...

    Rifle Scopes Brownell’s Match Optic

What are you talking about? I have one (Mark5HD 3.6-18×44) that came in yesterday. I assure you, the battery compartment holds a 2032 and it has 7 illumination settings with off detents between them. Not sure where you got the idea it is non illuminated only.

    Rifle Scopes Burris XTR3!!!

Since this very forum had people saying (or lying) that the XTR II glass was good when it was first released, I bought one sight unseen. A co-worker at my department also bought one sight unseen months later. Both had glass almost as good as a 3x9 Tasco... but not quite up to that Tasco...

    CLE chamber jams everything... normal?

So I did a ladder test with 77 TMK loaded to 2.255" in Nosler brass with CCI BR primers and 8208 from 21.0 to 22.2 grains. There were no pressure signs. The most accurate load was 22.2 grains at 1.00" and .81" on new brass. Least accurate were 1.50" and 1.63" with the remainder in the .83" to...

    CLE chamber jams everything... normal?

Understood, but the headspace is the only thing keeping it off the lands and from sticking until the firing pin pushes the round thw last thou to make the bullet touch at 2.260" so headspace does matter. When the firing pin pushes the round forward, you have a headspace gap at the rear, at the...

    CLE chamber jams everything... normal?

Yes, and it was established the CLE chamber is a 223 chamber, but not that it jams the 77 SMK.

    Precision DMR w/ piston upper?

No it won't. Shooting with a can makes for a filthy gun. Piston makes for a clean non suppressed gun. Heavy buffer, piston, both... if you use a can on a semi auto your gun will be filthy and so will your mags. There is no avoiding it.

    CLE chamber jams everything... normal?

So after I tested my Bartlein 1/7.7 turned by CLE with 223 CLE match chamber, I have found it jams everything into the lands. Previously I had massive pressure signs with 5.56 ammo. With handloads I will be jamming everything to the lands. Is that normal? My Hornady OAL gauge shows...

CLE match AR15 chamber issues and questions

So it sounds like I should be able to get a handload where I want velocity wise. Still, will it be able to shoot 5.56 Black Hilks factory ammo eventually, as it wears and the bullet jump to lands increases? If so, how many rounds till it gets there?

Looking for least offensive muzzle device that's not an A2 flash hider

Im partial to tbe SiCo 3 prong flash hider. Better than A2 at flash reduction, no ping, mounts your silencer.

CLE match AR15 chamber issues and questions

So I purchased a full custom Bartlein 1/7.7 CLE match chambered barrel as part of a lightweight precision build. While this used to be advertised as a 5.56 match chamber it is clearly a .223 chamber due to the very short freebore. It shoots anything at .233 pressure well. It shoots crap Freedom...

    Rifle Scopes Rimfire Optic

Ah, I see how reducing magnification could reduce parallax error due to "effective" objective size, thanks! Your exit pupil is just objective size/magnification. If you have a scope that does not have an exit pupil spec at low power that matches what is expected, it is because the scope is not...

    Rifle Scopes Rimfire Optic

From my understanding, parallax error is at maximum with your head fully to one side or the other or top or bottom of view... AKA maximally off center. At that level, just before losing your view, you will have the parallax error equal half your objective diameter at double your parallax...

Rifle Scopes Lightweight Mil/ Mil scope options

Since you did not mention illuminated reticle... Mark6 HD3-18×44 non-illuminated for 34mm tube or Mark5 3.6-18×44 HD 35mm tube with or without illumination. For less than half your budget, Nikon FX1000 4-16×50 FFP illuminated with 30mm tube. I have the Nikon I am dumping because the windage knob...

Leupold Mark 4 with inverted H32

EDIT: Think I will just try the Optics HUB and see if it works and isnt too bulky, since it is my cheapest option and seems like it would be secure.

Leupold Mark 4 with inverted H32

The inversion mounts are not $900. The Badger SlICK is $469 at Triad Tactical. The Kinetic Development Group Optics HUB is $150ish at Brownells. The Badger SLICK requires you flip it upside down and use the clamp adapter on "top" instead of on "bottom" or mount a picatinny to ARCA plate on...
