New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
If you just need to move a little, going from XTR rings to signature zee's will give it to you as they are much narrower and still have the plastic inserts.
I was surprised as well.

I have a factory 455 threaded barrel I'll probably never use. It came with a 455 I bought that had a Walther barrel but the guy said the factory barrel shot almost as well.
Burris XTR Signature rings with the plastic inserts allow you to increase/ decrease cant to maximize your scopes usable travel and WILL NOT leave ring marks.
The 1 price base doesn't have to cost $150. Talley/Leupold/Weaver all make reliable rails.
Unless you want Gucci parts, then have at it!
"Beware the man who has one gun"
That may have been true 50 years ago. But these days, the guy with only one gun is the guy who doesn't bother to check his zero on his hand-me-down Savage 270 before deer season IME. Every "gun guy" has several rifles these days.
