New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Thanks @alamo5000 and @Lunchbag for the tip on the Mighty Armory dies. I had not heard of them. A quick look at them looks really interesting. I mandrel all my various calibers with an LE Wilson mandrel die (love it), but I like that the Mighty Armory does both in one step.
Cool, thanks. However, I was not really expecting "problems" with the dies. I'm sure they turn out acceptable ammo just fine. What I was interested in is are the Hornady "match" dies on the same level of precision as the Redding Competition dies or such? I've been spoiled by my Reddings for...
So, I'm building a 6 ARC AR-15 upper for long range precision. I'm planning to take it out to 1200+ as well as maybe do some AR-15 Tac Comps with it. What reloading dies do you all recommend? From an interwebs search, it seems the options are basic Hornady or RCBS Matchmaster dies on 17 month...
I agree. I have a couple of very promising loads with Bergers...... 105 HT around 2975-2980 and 109 LRHT around 2950-2960. They get out to 1300+ pretty easily and very accurately. So I'm hoping I get a lot of barrel life out of these. I just don't feel the need for more speed.
Next time I'm at the range (maybe tomorrow), I'll put my S&B 5-25 PMII side by side against my Vortex 4.5-27 at something distinct about 2000 yds away. At our LR steel range at my club - there is a rocky ridgeline the steel targets are mounted on that goes at least 2500 yds out. The steel...
I haven't looked thru or shot with my Razor much past about 1500 yds. But it's really good at that range. I think the further out you go, the optical quality requirements get much more demanding. I have no experience with the newer scopes that are all the rage now like Khales, ZCo and such...
What speeds are you running with which Bullet? I found a couple of great speeds for the Berger 105 Hybrid and the 109 LR Hybrid. I'm running the 105 at about 2970 and the 109 @2940. Both are about 0.020 off the lands. Both shoot lights out at 1200+. And I just passed 100 rounds on the...
It's actually slang for "the Vigorish". And if you don't make your payment to the boss here, you get effectively executed (banned). So same same.

I ran into this issue with my Lee universal decapping die and Lapua SRP 6 CM brass. The pin was too big. I ordered a couple of smaller pins for the Lee from Brownells @ $3.95 each. In the meantime, I just used my Redding Neck sizer as a decapper and left the bushing out. Worked like a champ
I'm definitely going to play with seating depth. I chose group #2 & 3 as the focal point and reshot a 5 shot group of those loads 40.0/40.2/40.4 w/ IMR4451 and all the other variables exactly the same - just to see if it was a fluke or if that really was the node. Here are the results:
The...
Really? What's wrong with the use of the term?? It absolutely is used correctly here. It's a tax, juice on a transaction, whatever. It taking a cut of the action. How else would you describe It?
