    That's an interesting thought, although I would think part of the benefit of the 3d construction would be allowing for more material to be added to high stress/blast areas and lessening material in low stress areas.     I’ve owned SHVs, NX8s, and ATACRs. Use ATACRs on long range target rifles and SHV 4-14 F1s on my hunting rigs. I didn’t see the reason to pay more for anything more than the SHV, I think the value and features are there and am totally satisfied with my thought process.

    I second the GMG but get the intermediate size. Flavor off the pellets is much better in my opinion. I’ll never go back to gas. If you want to grill mainly, getting the grillgrates is a must. Being able to smoke when you want is unbelievably easy. You can become a bbq star in no time.
