Night Vision PVS-27's were there upgrades in tubes as the program evolved

Wondering if there were tube upgrades from when OSTI first started until now (excluding WP) and if so are they really that big of a deal. Any issues with the older ones to be on the watch for. Thanks.

Night Vision Question regarding SkeetIR/clip-on thermal

Anyone ever buy the Voodoo skeet style IR device that was depicted here not long ago? Perhaps that is an option for the OP at a slightly lower price point than the X. As someone who wanted a SKEET for a long time the more I read I just do not get how they were being marketed. The original OASYS...

    Night Vision NV scope advice

jaydog48 I have not experienced any loss of clarity with the 3x lens. On darker nights I do have to introduce additional IR, but that just makes whacking predators easier as I put the cross hairs on their glowing eye and it is lights out. My 3x magnifier for the 14 screws into the the front...

    Night Vision NV scope advice

A dedicated NV scope like a 740, D470, D750 or D760 are excellent choices. I have a PVS-26 which is the predecessor to the 30. While the picture is awesome it is a pig to lug around. Now I also just picked up a TNVC WASP (no longer made) and while the WASP is a little lighter and more compact...

Night Vision Anyone running dual band goggle setup?

This pic was posted on another board by a long time member some years back. Not sure if it it helps you but maybe it can give you ideas .

Night Vision Picked up TNVC WASP and want to explore the idea of adding a dovetail shoe to work w/ Wilcox Flip Mount

If I remember correctly there were supply issues which kept causing delays. After that I do not know, perhaps they missed the window as thermal came on making NV Clip-On's not as attractive

Night Vision Looking for best option to add a dovetail to a PVS14 AA battery model to work with Wilcox Flip Mount

I hear you but this shoe is for an older ITT dual AA which has better recoil rating

Night Vision Picked up TNVC WASP and want to explore the idea of adding a dovetail shoe to work w/ Wilcox Flip Mount

Not sure if the WASP is to heavy for the Wilcox Flip Mount as it was designed for the SKEET/UTM. The UTM weighs approx 18 oz and the WASP is about 28oz. The WASP has a LaRue DOS Mini QD mount. Like my other post about wanting to add a dovetail to a PVS14 I am just looking for the ability to...

Night Vision Looking for best option to add a dovetail to a PVS14 AA battery model to work with Wilcox Flip Mount

Looking at the Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Helmet/Weapon Mount Shoe or the RQE OSS - Obverse Shoe Set 1/4-20 Weapon Mountable Bottom Shoe. Problem with the RQE seems to be that it only comes in a set. So you have to buy the float mount along with the weapons mount. Anyone have experience with these to say...

Night Vision Why is leaving batteries in thermal and NV devices such a big no no?

Not sure if anyone else saw it but I had mentioned this to another member here that there was a PVS-27 for sale on eBay for $2,500. The issue was someone had left the batteries in it and they leaked. He showed a picture of the corrosion inside the battery compartment. While the seller said the...

Night Vision FLIR T75 Advanced Combat Thermal Sight-Long Range Has Finally Arrived!

It has been said that the quality of the day scope when using thermal is far less important as you are bascially looking at a TV screen image. Day scope glass quality is more important when using a Clip On Night Vision scope as light tramsmission is a key factor.

    Night Vision My t-50

Thermal on a shotgun, now that is a first and very cool to boot! Quick question do you know the centerline co witness height of the T-50 from the AR rail?

Night Vision ITT nigthvision mounted on riflescope?

The monocular is not meant to be placed in front of the day scope. It belongs behind the day scope. What caliber is the 700? PVS-14's are designed for up to 5.56. They might take 6.8 but someone else will have to chime in on that.
