New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I've got an Accuracy International in route to my house. Should be here by the end of the week. I've had an XLR and they are very good stocks but I couldn't get my eye perfectly behind the scope because the cheek piece is too wide for my face. I have very high cheek bones that are somewhat...
I just got done building an AK and I'm going a different direction. I'm looking at getting a DRAKO and OPMOD setup from armasight. That will give me a visible laser and an IR laser for night vision. Same setup I ran clearing houses in Fallujah (mind you I had a Pac2 and Gen 3 night vision)...
I'm going to do everything I can to make it up on the 11th. I am going to be running one of two rigs with brand new barrels and no drop chart so it should be a crap shoot :-/. Definately going to be staying afterwards for time on the bench.
Good luck,
Merritt
I have that very set up sitting in my basement right now. The M40 stock had to be opened up to accept the barrel. Tom Sarver at TVP did the stock inlet and the barrel install for me. Im also running the stealth DBM from PTG and had to inlet it a tad to get it to fit properly.
Good luck,
Merritt
This is what I went with for my 7rem mag. I have found that directional brakes have the ability to throw a bullet one way or another depending on particles getting in them. I prefer multi directions because I've never had an issue with that on any of my multi's.
M41 Muzzle Brake - Precision...
How is the Mcree when it comes to handling a long action magnium? I have seen very good things from them in short action non-mag calibers but womdering how they would hold up against the added HP.
Thank you all for posting,
Merritt
Ok my barreled action is almost done. It's a 26" Kreiger heavy varmet in a rem 700LA. It's chambered in 7mm rem mag. I am looking at the Terry cross sentinel which is a beast of a stock but I have a couple concerns. With a very long rifle my concern is that when in my low drag pack the stock...
Thats what im going to be running once my rifle is completed by the gun smith. Going to be trying the 180 SMK also.
I say go for it.
Good luck,
Merritt

I am heading this weekend for a rebarrel of my 7rem mag because I'm currently running the stock noodle. Pushing 162 BTHPs with 69.5g of H1000. Very stable load for temp variations and it bucks with wind pretty well however I went to the 7rem mag to be able to run the heavies. Since I can't...
Kurt wish I could be there sat but graduation parties are forcing a Sunday run up there for me. That and I have two rigs to get dialed in for the Sniper match for the 1st.
Good luck,
Merritt
Have you considered 7mm calibers? Higher BC for the grain weight over the 30s and you can push them much harder. 180 hybrid can easily be pushed to 3000fps out of a 7rem mag and has a .673bc with less recoil then a 300WM. Then you also have the calibers with more HP like the 7STW. I plan to...
