    ARC Nucleus

I got my hands on some 7.62x51 LR Match and it definitely wouldn't ignite these with the stock spring. Never any issue with the commercial rounds I shot or reloads. Haven't tried on 5.56 mil ammo yet.

    ARC Nucleus

Pretty happy with mine, have three barrels for it, all PVA. One (6.5) hasn't headspaced that well but the .308 and .223 are right on and a joy to shoot. Waiting for Ted to dip his toe in the .22LR market so we have a few more choices on the market. Passed on his stock, which I think was still...

    Grayboe Phoenix Review

Why am I reading emails between you and the company? Just give us a summary. Yes, they totally screwed up, but not sure that your emails with them should be public.

Which Action to rule it all?

Get the gun as is, get some factory 300WM, get dies, and proceed to shoot the barrel out over a year or so. At that point, you're in a great position to know if you need more FPS (300 PRC), diameter or grain weight (338 LP), or could just slap another 300 WM barrel on it. Big calibers usually...

1:8" twist in a .308 Win. short barreled rifle - will it work?

I was going to post exactly this, although with a smaller sample size. I have one (16" 1:8 twist), have shot quite a few. Makes no sense in .308 with conventional usage, assuming usage of 150 to 200 grain bullets. Causes issues with certain bullet types, specifically bonded/hunting rounds which...

    Bino Advice $1000ish budget

Leica Geovid is available for a little north of $1000. Love mine.

9mm Bolt Action Rifle - Looking for people with experience with the manufacturer (Curtis Tactical)

Any update? Sounds like mine should ship soon and I'd love to learn from any of the guys who has had one in hand already.

    Recent Experience with LaRue Barrels

I've been pretty happy with the Larue barrels I've purchased over the years, including a PredatAR and a Stealth (years and years ago). Especially for the price a few years back, ~$225 or so for a barrel, there wasn't anything even close to it in terms of price and quality. I'm not surprised that...

    Remington 700 5r bottom metal...

Your option is HS bottom metal for BDL stocks, ~$300. Single stack only, 4 or 5 rounds. Great mags, low profile, but AICS is the defacto standard and HS doesn't appear to support it. Or you put another stock on, or you send to a smith to inlet for Badger M5 or other bottom metal. As others have...

Badger Ordinance S.L.I.C.K. Hensoldt Catseye for Objective

Is there an objective cover for the SLICK for the Leupold 12-40? I've seen one in their photos, but can't find it online.

9mm Bolt Action Rifle - Looking for people with experience with the manufacturer (Curtis Tactical)

Even if you reload, .45 / 230 and 9mm / 147 are in totally different ball parks for price. Additionally, .45 ACP doesn't suppress as well, given the additional volumes of gas. Frankly, I've been looking for years for a 9mm bolt gun, and have been hoping Ruger would make one, or a mag fed lever...

9mm Bolt Action Rifle - Looking for people with experience with the manufacturer (Curtis Tactical)

300 BO has way more utility, but there are a lot of great 300 BO solutions out there, including the Ruger Ranch in the $450 range. The reason I ordered one of these was to be able to simplify a bunch of disciplines around a single caliber, not have to chase .22LR to do bolt work, and the...

Rifle Scopes LEO sniper in need of new glass.

At your budget? Nightforce SHV, 4-14 F1, and Nightforce rings. You have money left to put a good rail on top as well. You could also call Mile High or Euro Optic and ask about display/sample scopes. I'm issued a Leupold Mk 6 and have a personal SHV, and I actually think they are pretty...

Range finder binos or dedicated range finder

I find the Binos to be a lot easier to spot and laze your intended target, especially as you get further away or the target gets smaller. I have the entry level Leicas and think they are a pretty good value.

    Kidd Barrel for 10/22, discount?

Love my Kidd, but running a ULW, not trying for super precision. Very happy, like TacSol, but much better consistency/QC.

    .223 or 7.62x39 for "S & G"

.223 all day long. I just re-barreled my Nucleus in .223 using a PVA, and modded an HS mag to fit an old HS stock. Most fun I've had in a long time at the range. It shot 69 SMK and 55 FMJ pretty well. I think 7.62 x 39 shines if you were sitting on a bunch of surplus, or were already invested in...

What is the best scope for Sako TRG-42 in .338 Lapua

Moving from a Mk IV? Honestly, I'd go with a Kahles, at the upper end of the price range, or a Nightforce ATACR, something in the 25x top end, throw it in a Spuhr, and use the money you saved for ammo. These scopes have great resale if you end up deciding you need more.

    Grayboe Phoenix or KRG Bravo

I really don't get any of the appeal of the Grayboe. For that money, I'd rather get a used McMillan, or just save a little more and get a new one, or get something like an HS (just wish they would start offering AICS compatible bottom metal). Of the two, Bravo all day long, and you have a ton...

The new Springfield 2020 Waypoint Rifle

Where to start. They have the 1911 market share that they do because they put out good pistols at a great price point. Their XD line has a ton of happy users and offers a lot of features. And I think there are a huge number of shooters in this country who think that Ruger offers a ton of...

    Grayboe Phoenix Review

How would you compare it to the KRG? I struggle with paying 2x as much for the Bravo, or 2/3 the price of a McMillan or HS.
