    Anyone know fister13f?

He's from North Carolina, hasn't been on the Hide since February 9th. I need to get in touch with him. If anyone knows how I might get in contact with him, I'd appreciate it. Hoping nothing happened to the guy, but he fell off the commo pretty sudden. PM me if you have any info. Thanks!

PRS Talk Question about my first PRS match

I did my first PRS and NRL matches last summer and it was a blast! Study the stage and practice it in your head before it's your turn. When you can, watch the shooters ahead of you for ideas. You'll see guys make mistakes and you'll see guys make the stages look easy. Have fun!!!

    NRL22 Optics

I tried a SWFA SS 3-15x FFP at my first NRL match. My eyes aren't what they used to be, a 20x scope would have been just right. The SS focused down to 25yds and was overall pretty good for the game. The scope tracks great and I think they have some good Black Friday deals.

    Rifle Scopes Scope Leveling: F***!

I'll second what goosed said! Leveling the scope to the rifle can result in it not feeling natural. I believe the HMFIC (Frank) of this site talks about it in one of the training videos. Most of us shoot a slight cant or the stock design results in a slight cant. I get behind the rifle with...

Gunsmithing Tikka firing pin for 6.5x47 Lapua

I turned a Tikka M595 into a 6.5x47L and did nothing to the firing pin. I also built a 6x47L on a Rem700 without bushing the firing pin. I get a very small "crater" on the primer around the pin occasionally, but it's nothing that has caused issue or concern. Both rifles have had 300-500 rounds...

Monthly Sporting Rifle match RATON NM

It was a good idea! As Mike would say "we're doing this like we don't know what to expect." When I deployed my burrito for a front rest on the can, I didn't know what to expect!

    cz 455 giving me fits

I agree with redneck, it's cheap and sometimes fascinating to see what a change in ammo will do. I bought a 455 varmint last year and was not impressed with the accuracy. I messed with at least seven different brands of ammo and found three that showed promise. I read about running 1000...

    Small portable barricade?

YouTube "6.5 Guys practice barricade", they have a cool set up they made that breaks down. You could make one along the same lines and customize it to fit in your trunk. My buddy just made to fit in a Tacoma truck bed with a tool box and it works great.

Range Report 6x47 and 110 SMK?

I just started running the 110's in my 47 a couple weeks ago. Right now I'm pushing them at 3,000fps out of a 26", 7.5 twist Hawk Hill. Their holding half MOA out 800 (haven't gone further), but I think I still need to push them a little harder. Ran some seating depth tests this past weekend...

    PRS Talk PRS Match Load

You might look at the "Precision Rifle Blog" by Cal Zant. He collects a ton of data from PRS shooters about equipment and cartridges. I've not seen actual load data but you can at least see what cartridges are popular and go from there.

Lee Universal case trimmer and a cordless electric screwdriver or drill. The Lee tool is pretty cheap but all your brass will be trimmed perfectly. Ive been using them for years!

Hunting & Fishing Unit 2b Deer New Mexico ?

There's big bucks scattered all over 2b. Your right about the "pray for snow" and not being able to count on that. Snow or not, the USFS side of the unit is a bit higher in elevation than the rest of the unit and holds some big resident bucks. The Caracas Mesa circus is usually and mostly road...

Scope rings that do not cant the reticle as you tighten them?

Ive been using TPS for years and they are very easy and come with instructions so you don't get cant or twist of your scope. Highly recommend TPS.
