New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have a remington 700 in 222rem. I like the round shoots great but what I don't like is how fast the barrel warms up and how long it takes to cool down. If I shoot the 4 rounds I can fit in the gun it stay HOT for 30mins+.
My plan is to shoot some PD's next year with it but this heat thing is...
Re: USO - EREK or #3 M40???
I personally didn't care for the EREK. You can get just as much elevation per rev with the #3 and it's "easier"/more user friendly(traditional) to set up. My next ST-10 will have #3 M40 knobs but I'm the minority by the looks of it.
Re: Form 4 wait time
I've seen a house fly, and a horse fly so why no pig flies, LOL. I couldn't resist...mainly cause I'm only 1 month into my wait and it's driving me crazy
Re: M40 Build Guide
Had to fit my buttplate. What do you guys think?
It's a good start I think. Hope no one minds me keeping this thread up towards the top until my build is done.
Re: AM I THE ONLY ONE???
I never heard of Nightforce, USO, and S&B until I got on this site...I've own 2 out 3 since and have spent WAY too much money.
The wife needs to block this site, LOL.
Re: "classic" looking rifle build question
That's the way I feel about it. I wanted to see what others thoughts were and see if it had been done before.
For some reason I've got it in my head I want a "classic" vietnam-era "m40ish" 308 but I'd like to have a few modern updates. Would it be blasphemy to put a ai-mag dbm on such a rifle.
I don't want the gun gods upset and cause me to shoot any poorer than I do already.
Re: shot my .308 for the first time today
"It's easy to get wrapped up in high end optics and expensive builds on here but you have to be able to drive it first."
The above is very true. It happened to me. I thought I needed a custom rifle and the best scope my money could buy. It was nice...
Re: First part of my build arrived last week
Unless your M2008 is a long action you should need the short action. If I'm wrong someone please chime in cause I'm going to order one for my build on a M2008 shortly.
+1 on pics of the recontoured and polished ramps.

Re: Is an action an action or is there a difference?
I've had a few Remingtons and Savages over the past few year searching for something. I found what I was looking for in a custom action.
With a factory actions I've noticed that there is bolt "wobble" and that bugged the crap out of me...
