    The buckeyes are junk. Been there, done that. The nightforce are built with 7075 and dont lift up off the rail when tightened.

    Yeah, I don't think you're going to see 3000fps with a 140. 2900 might be doable depending on barrel length and throat. 3000 with a 140 is 6.5-284 or 6.5-06 country.

    I clean my rifle after every 40-50 rounds. Nothing fancy, just a soak with Wipe-out, then run a snake through it. I also wipe my ass everytime I shit too.

    I would soak a new barrel overnight with Wipe-Out, then run a few patches through it and hit the range.     Trouble with Remington 700

    Just and FYI, I have tried a lot of solvents and Wipe-Out always gave me the best results. Best part is, you spray it in, and ignore it until the next morning. Then either push a few patches through, or better yet run a bore-snake through it. I have a couple guns that required a couple good soaks.

    Another good suggestion. I know the cool kids think cleaning a barrel is a waste of time, but I clean every 40 rounds or so. Just get some Wipeout and let it soak over night, then swab it out. I am betting the patch will be dark blue, and it will probably take a couple soaks to get it all...

    Dumb question, but did you have the parallax adjusted correctly? That can really throw off your groups because your reticle moves all over and you don't realize it.

    You might need to take a pin and chase the threads afterwards. Mine had some plastic stuck to them after I removed them. Once I picked out the remaining pieces the new screws went right in.

    Aadmount covers are the real deal. My next scope will probably be sitting in Seekins rings. I have TPS on a few guns and like them, just wish they were a little wider.

    Now you're talking. Nothing wrong with running a Swede. A long action gives you more latitude for long bullets, and swede components are available though Lapua.
