    Maybe AI started threading the Lothar Walther barrels 5/8-24 now then? You may want to verify with MHS as that didn't used to be the case.

    Figured it out. There's 1/32" that's not threaded under the shoulder. I removed the first thread in the knob with a 5/16" drill bit. It is now perfect! I still have 8 more knobs too. The first try I didn't drill deep enough and split it with the tap...oops.

    A 13/64" drill bit and 5/16-24 tap got it really close. I'm going to grab a bottom tap and try to get it exact though. It does seem to make the bolt lift a smidge heavier since the ball is smaller (rather shorter) than the tactical knob.

    I got 10 of the 6046K15 part but they are only .5" deep so a bit shallow to screw on all the way to the Badger handle. I'm going to drill one out and see if I can get it to seat on the shoulder. At $1.67 each though it was worth a shot. They are basically the same diameter as the AI knob.

    Okay, thanks! Now to get the right bushing for my new die as I can't math apparently 😞 I also have to get the process of forming brass from .308 brass down. The Redding Trim/Form die takes it down to .295" so that's a good intermediate step.
