New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
The black finished BAT action screws are nitrided correct? I am planning on using them on my chrome moly action.
Everything I've ever owned that was made by BAT was top notch...
Do you have a thinner recoil lug to try? I keep a few recoil lugs of different thicknesses on hand. Factory recoil lugs are usually not very flat. I have a few .300"+ lugs on hand for swapping barrels around if I want. At .300" I have room to surface grind both sides down to the desired...
So I'm doing some research on custom extractor options for 700 bolts. I know the question has been asked, but there isn't a more recent thread that I could find that provided info on all of them in one place. I did a search and came up with a few things, mostly older posts or related to one...
No problem at all. I understand completely, all our drawings and designs where I work, and that of our customers are secured as well. I didn't know if it was publicly available or not.
I appreciate the quick response though.
I'm looking at my RR action I just got, it is a newer action. Beneath the front barrel trunnion area on the bottom of the receiver is an electropenciled "C" engraving.
I was curious if this was possibly a revision mark or if it is even a significant marking?
You wouldn't happen to have a link to this this drawing? Or maybe a .pdf copy you would be willing to share? I've been trying to research it without any luck yet. I'm just curious and trying to educate myself a bit.
Was it just the feed ramp that was revised or did the feed rails get changed also?
Yep looks like a Marksman model. This is an excellent stock at a great price. I have one on a post 64 model 70, one of my favorite McMillans, someone snag this thing. Good luck with the sale.
I'm looking for a 700 short action bolt with .308 bolt face... Chrome Moly preferred, can be stripped or complete.
Let me know if you have one o part with? I can send USPS money order for payment. I unfortunately don't use PayPal. But I have good feedback here and as hnic7847 on Gunbroker. I...
Yea you won't be disappointed. Bartlein barrels are top notch and CLE does a great job on barrels. If I were to have a 308 AR barrel made today, that's pretty much exactly the route I would choose.
Welcome to the hide!
Sounds like a cool build no doubt. I don't have any experience with the Ragna HG... Hopefully someone will chime in who does.
Lothar Walther barrels are supposed to be pretty good shooters. I've never owned one but they have a pretty good rep, I'm a fan of the 1:8 twist...
I assumed mine started piercing primers because the only change I made was the RRA trigger with lighter hammer spring. I ran a PNT Trigger before and I had never had an issue in approx 400rds. Within my first 3 shots with the RRA trigger I had the FTF and either shot 1 or 2 pierced the primer...
I run H4895 @ 39.5gr in LC brass in my AR308 with 168gr SMK. It's an old school load but it does shoot really well in my 308 and is one of my favorite handloads.
Pretty cheap and does a good job for decent plinking ammo.
ETA: I missed where you said you are looking for ball powder to meter...
