    I use to have an AX with the quick lock. I did exactly that to do by BTO measurements. Pop of the barrel and drop a dummy round into the chamber. When it doesn't stick I considered that to be the lands. Seemed to work well enough for me. I also did all my cleaning with the barrel off.

    I was too cheap to buy the Swaros so ended up with some of the Meoptas and am very happy with them. I have also heard that the new Leupys are very nice as well. There is a big price jump b/w the Meoptas and Swaros and it was not worth it for me.

    Get it nitrided or DLC'd from the factory. I ended up having the outside of mine cerakoted but I wanted it NOW. If I was more patient I would have waited and gone for Nitride probably.

    I have both and both are great. I think I like the Tac more but that may be because it is in a T4 over an MPA. The Elite feels different but the Tac feels like every other 700 clone (nicer but you get the point ).

    I have 2 Brs and am only shooting 105 Hybrids and both are great at 30grs of Varget. I started at I think 28grs of Varget and worked up. I think i did .5gr jumps to 29 and the dropped it down to smaller increments.

    I will run either with no difference really. I think from a "engineering" standpoint I prefer the Elite. The longer tenon and the scope rail adjustments I think are great ideas. I sort of prefer the ejection a bit more on the Tactical though. It seems to deposit the brass in a nice little pile...

    Since I can't read good this makes sense why my CG22 hasn't shipped yet. Tom is probably busy cranking out these guys for the AI crowd. IMO the CG22 and TRG22 triggers are the only ones out there that best the AI trigger.

    A competition variant would work but I am sure an inlet could be designed. I may be crazy but I remember awhile back that Gradous was putting an AI into an A5 Stock. It probably started as a flat top and a lot of milling. Good news about the trigger though.

    6.5x55 Swede SE....true sub quarter minute rifle

    I had a Swede that was a tack driver as well. I shot 140 Bergers over 48grs 4831SC - mid 2,800s speed wise. It is a great cartridge, I kind of think of it as a "light magnum" especially if you were to AI it. I would think an 6.5X55AI would be able to get the 140s darn close to 3,000. However...

    Rifle Scopes Why isn’t Meopta Included among the Best?

    I have some of the Meopta Binos - wicked for spotting and really well made from what I can tell. It is too bad their scope options are so terrible. As @spife7980 mentioned they do have one scope that could work but it is only a 12X and 4X erector - so they are a bit behind the times.
