    bino chest rig

thanks for everyone's input. I suspect it's going to take a bit of trial and error to find the perfect one, but I've got lots to chew on for now.

    bino chest rig

I'm looking for a bino pouch large enough for a mid sized 8x42, and a pocket on the side that will fit a Sig Kil02200 LRF. I'd like to keep things small and compact, so not really looking for one with extra pouches on the straps/harness. Anyone got a recommendation?

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

To be honest, I built the rifle planning on shooting the amax. I haven't killed anything with the rifle yet, but I might drag it along as a backup to my 7 saum on a New Brunswick moose hunt this fall. I have amax, scenars and 127 lrx on the shelf, so I might just see what shoots best and call it...

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

Yup, I know they do great at distance. I just want to make sure my bases are covered when things get Western at 30 yards!

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

Has anyone used 139 scenars on big critters (elk, eastern moose) up close? I always seem to end up with a 30-50yd shot, when I'm ready for 200-500! Alternatively, I'd love to hear how 127 LRX is working for folks.

    F-TR build suggestions?

Tim- Mike's info is spot on. Don't try an reinvent the wheel. You may well find a used rifle all ready to go. Even if the barrel is on it's last legs, having a new one spun up is no big deal.

    Will this hurt? Lightweight 6.5PRC

thanks guys- I was hoping the rail was available separately, but it doesn't look that way.

    recommend a brake

Thanks for the suggestions gents. I agree that lots of brakes are really obnoxious to be around. I have a Little Bastard that absolutely lives up to it's name. To get back to the original question, my buddy bought this S20 as a hunting rifle, and most of the time he won't be running a brake at...

    recommend a brake

Got a buddy looking for a self timing brake to use occasionally on a Sako S20 .300WM. He’s not planning on using it while hunting, but would like the option when shooting steel. The barrel isn’t terribly heavy, so a really large brake isn’t really desirable. What are the options for slimmer...

    truck gun project

the idea is pure utility, hence the LSS with folder adaptor. This is not a precision rifle, but more of an easily carried utility piece. Mag fed, likely shooting 69 or 77 gr ammo, bulk produced on a 550.

    truck gun project

I'm up north of the wall, so AR is out for me. Also, I have all the parts, except glass and barrel, so it's a pretty low effort project.

    truck gun project

I'm contemplating a rem 700 .223 truck/utility gun build. MTD LSS chassis, .223 Wylde, 1-7" twist, 16-18", some sort of LPVO. Anyone already done this? What would you change?

    6.5 Swede build- dbm options?

Got a buddy building a swede on a Zermatt SR3. The vendor is recommending Hs Precision mags, but I'm wondering how much massaging need to be done to a standard LA AICS mag to make it feed 6.5x55?

    7mm SAW

I've read this whole thread a couple of times. The concept really intrigues me, not so much in terms of making top velocity, but more about better case design- like the 6.5 creed vs .260. All of my hunting rigs are built on R700's, fed from DBMs, so 2.900 is pretty much max COAL. I would...
