New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Lot of sound advice
Yes true the action and have the bolt bushed and firing pin turned down for a 6.5x47
It all depends on your budget.
IMO if take a trued 700 over a Stiller.
Feeds great
Great brass ready to go for loading
Crazy accurate
Great barrel life
Plenty if ammo avaliable. (You can use 280 rem if need be)
I know I've owned one
280 AI with 180 bergers! Very accurate. Nosler makes brass ready to go. Better barrel life than the 6 REM. Better long range killing gun for big game. It will hit steel with authority at distance.
You will be happy
I have owned them all. I always preferred the Jewell until the new Calvin Timney was released. It's as good as any Jewell I have ever owned and better than all other triggers available. Jewell's QC fell off a couple of years ago. Get the Timney, you can thank me later
I'm sorry but stainless steel is stainless steel.
It will eventually gaul if not properly lubricated.
I am respectfully screaming in my head " why would you not lube the threads of the barrel!!!" .05 cent worth of lube on a 1500.00 barrels action only is mandatory
