    Got a good deal on a .260

So if the barrel was made in one year, and later removed and added to another action, what would the DOM on the bbl tell you?

    Got a good deal on a .260

Highly unlikely an 1984 action would have been used on a round not produced commercially by Rem until 1997. .260 Remington - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia None the less, enjoy.

    Fluting? Yes or No ?

Frank, good read. Done both, but last build was a Light Palma in 6.5x47 at 22.5, and I am very happy, figure in round, it is close to a Rem/V fluted. I see more Light Palma and/or similar #4 in my future for MY use.

    6.5x47 Build

Bergers are great - but so are 120 ballistic tips and 130 Accubonds. Both will reach plenty far and act right as the reach n destroy vitals ;) My 47 is 22.5. My next will be 21....long tubes no issue at the range but I like handy sticks for hunting. Bob understands :)

Brass brand matters, inc. capacity/pressure...just want folks to work up to the loads they see here for their rifles, and brass....for safety.

Any 16-19" shorty 6.5 Creedmoor or 260rems out there?

Had two '96 Mausers chopped from 29.1 - to 24 and 21, the 21 handled great, had exactly 100fps diff using IMR4831/120 CL, speed I recall 2833 I would do 21 in a heartbeat again, my next will be, last minute did a 22.5" Light Palma and works well, but I still like a 20-21 best overall for MY...

Any 16-19" shorty 6.5 Creedmoor or 260rems out there?

Nice shorty, what contour/bbl/twist did you use, and trigger? Looks like it is a good shooter.

Tikka T3: Show me how well they shoot.

Many may not know... "Tikka M595 Continental. It's a handsome and well-made rifle with a slick action. Accuracy was very good, as seems to be a trait of Tikka rifles. This can be seen in the fact the 1999 British Long-Range Benchrest Championship was won by a Tikka Continental in 6.5x55...

6.5 tcu in a bolt gun

Push a 120 to 2600 in a 20" and good luck not blowing brass/primers or an action. Running safe pressures IS of concern to me, perhaps not so much with others. 7TCU in a Carbine rifle will do 120/2550, smaller bore (IE less area on base of bullet for gas to work) plus a longer bearing...

Any 16-19" shorty 6.5 Creedmoor or 260rems out there?

H4350 worked real good with 123s in a 260 of mine..

6.5 tcu in a bolt gun

7TCU in a 14" gets 2400/120gr, a 6.5 normally will do 2200-2250, in a rifle, you can expect 100-150 more. I would expect 2350-2450. If me I would strongly look at a Grendel or BR case. Def capable on deer/hogs to 200 yds, assuming proper bullet + placement.

Timney 512 vs old style trigger for 700

+1,000 on muzzle control, nice to know about the safety block via Timney. Thanks for the info. I have tuned a few OEMs in my day, just looking if Timney was better, sounds like the safety alone may be a worthwhile improvement.

Timney 512 vs old style trigger for 700

Feedback? I am looking to replace a trigger, is the Timney a better way?

    260 Rem in hunting applications?

I am guessing it will measure from 9-10. If 9 it will handle thru 140s based on my experience in a Sako 75 w/9 twist. If truly 10.0, you may be hard to find a bullet that does much better in accuracy or killing deer, than a 120 Ballistic Tip, even the 100 BT and Partition are deadly in the...
