    Help with 6mm offerings

I did a Remage to my Rem. 700 from 6.5 CM to 6BR and am very happy with it. Also used a Criterion barrel from NSS and put it in a KRG Bravo stock. As others have said, MDT magazines work just fine. Let us know how you like your build!

    Vortakt Barrels

Wow, they're in my neck of the woods! There must be 1/2 dozen barrel makers here in Wisconsin (Krieger, Bartlein, Criterion, Brux, etc). Must be the water. Curious too who they sell their barrels to?

What type of 6mm BR sizing dies to use?

Well, got all the parts in from Northland Shooter Supply in addition to some soft jaws for my vise for my 6 BR build. Had some time yesterday and decided to get to it. My local gunsmith already removed the original barrel from the action. I cleaned up the action, paying special attention to...

What type of 6mm BR sizing dies to use?

Thanks for all the reply's. I finally decided to get a Whidden Gunworks non-bushing sizing die after reading a lot about them. You can change out the sizing buttons to get a different sized neck. No, not the same as a SAC die, but I don't want to spend that type of coin on one die, nor go...

What type of 6mm BR sizing dies to use?

I like the idea of the SAC dies, but boy, are those pricey!! A bushing that goes down to the shoulder makes total sense. Interesting no one else has produced dies and bushings like that...

What type of 6mm BR sizing dies to use?

Well, I have a die question for a new build I’m doing. I have taken a Rem 700 I bought for cheap (and put a few hundred rounds through), had my local gunsmith remove the barrel and am going to do a Remage conversion. The barrel I bought is a Criterion 6mm BR Norma from NSS. This will be used...

    .45 Colt 250gn Hi-Tek coated bullets.

I have used Hi Tek coated bullets from Acme and Missouri Bullet Co., and have been very pleased. I've loaded them in .45 Colt, .44 Mag, .38 Spcl., 45 ACP and 45-70. They are cleaner to handle when loading, keep barrels cleaner (less leading) than uncoated bullets and give you ability to...

    .22 Eley CMP Standard Ammo

I also purchased a case of the CMP Eley ammo mainly so I don't run out of .22 ammo during these nutty times. I received it this past Saturday. I ordered it almost exactly one month previous. Came via FedEx and arrived in good shape. Looked just like the picture on the CMP website. I used...

    H4350

Small local gun shops seem to have powder somewhat regularly. I bought a pound of H-4350 a week ago.

Lever action Marlin questions - 44 mag and 45-70

If you reload, the 45-70 is cheap to feed (under $20 to reload 50 rds.). I have an 1895 (the 22" barrel version) and like you only use it for paper and steel. I shoot 300 gr. RNFP's at around 1,200 fps and it's a pleasure to shoot (have shot just over 600 rds. through it so far). I can shoot...

Difference in CBTO lengths w/diff. weight bullets

Well, I tried two additional groups today, one at .025" and one at .035", and neither grouped as well as .030" off the lands. I'll be sticking with that. Now, time to work on the shooter.

Difference in CBTO lengths w/diff. weight bullets

Thanks all for the responses. The flyer on group #5 could certainly be due to my inconsistency. It wasn't a called flyer, but I'd chalk it up to me. I'd like to load some up at the range as suggested, but my press is a full size Lee Classic Cast. Not exactly portable. I'll get some more...

    Redding T7

The article I referenced was in the December-January 2019 issue of Handloader. Long story short, they mention that the T-7 press Sierra purchased in 2002. Sierra's chief ballistician guessed they had run between 1 million and 2 million reloads through it. In 2017 Redding reacquired it and...

    Redding T7

There was an article in Handloader magazine a while back where they were talking about a T-7 that was used by Sierra (the bullet folks) over the years for loading bullets and had north of 1 million rounds loaded through it with a crazy small amount of wear on the ram. I'll try and find the...

Difference in CBTO lengths w/diff. weight bullets

Here are the groups (5 shots each at 100 yds) from yesterday... Looks like group #5 which is .030" off the lands might be it (2.194" as the max CBTO touching lands). Of course, if I feel like more work, I could now try .025", .030" and .035", or just load up some .030" and try and work on...
