You'll be fine if your wood has been allowed to wring out to around 5-8 percent moisture and you put a good finish on it. Pillar bed it so that the screws don't squish between the action and floormetal and send it. Good luck on your project.- LRI

This is all client-supplied stuff and no paintwork on the exterior, so it is what it is. On the first gun, it's a 300WM plopped into a "railroad tie" sized stock so its not surprising at all that the tang is buried a bit. When I encounter this I finish the tang the same way I do on a Palma...- LRI
