    300 win mag barrel conundrum.

    I have a set of howard leights in od that came w an aux port(for music or coms good for mowing etc.) 59 bucks at cabelas. Talking about hearing loss. Any thoughts on a good muzzle brake? Fte? R&d? Benchmark? If I keep the tube long and have a mb this baby is gonna be a pussycat to shoot.

    One thing is for sure by the time I hang a 24-26 inch tube and put it in a sentinal and scope that baby it probably won't make it too far from the truck. I am guessing it'll be in the 16-18# range. Thanks for the input guys

    24" seems to be the common theme, the shortest length to still get the performance out of the winny. I don't have any real experience with the win mag and as far as I know barrel stretchers are still hard to come by! Thanks for the reply.

    Thanks for the post maestro, I am having an action trued and barreled as part of the group buy. I went the same specs as you, and also like you this is my first build. I spec'd a bartlein m24 5R to finish at 24" when a builder like Mike chimes in I am all ears. I plan on running 190's to 210's...

    I agree with timelinex, npa is your foundation in any shooting position. I close my eyes after getting in position, relax and then open them. For me if my sight picture still addresses the target, I have npa covered and proceed to make the shot. Being "behind" the rifle helps with target follow...

    Why is it I keep getting the tapatalk prompt every time I go to a different subject? If it matters I am on an I pad? Is there anyway to stop this? Without buying tapatalk. I already have it on my phone and it works great.

    Re: Wish they would make a Remington 5R in .260 +1 on that idea. Remmy has been doing better with twist since acquiring aac. At least they offer a 1/10 308 already threaded. A threaded 22 to 24 in. 5R in 260 with a nice 1/8 twist would be pretty darn cool.
