Overthinking it? Upper receiver selection choice for accurized SPR build (not a match rifle)

I just assembled two accurate-ized uppers (well, thats as intended, verdict is still out on the outcome...) One was a 308 using a Mega receiver and one of SLR's newer hand guards with the anti rotation pin. This one did not need thermal fitting. Also, I had to use the SLR jig to drill into the...

    Athlon Cronus BTR GEN2 1-6x24

I have one, a Gen2, and like it. Thats the simple response. More detailed is that I'm a bit of a LPVO collector, and while I am gravitating to higher end and also FFP, also love a good deal. Which is how I came to the Athlon. For me, my eyes, and my rifle presentation, it worked *really*...

OSS 7.62 or Omega 300 on 8" 300 blk build?

I was in a similar quandary as the OP. I want to use on OSS--lefty and hate gas--but found subs dont seem to provide enough back pressure. My Noveske 10.5" cycles unsuppressed with subs and usually locks back--Ive not tested all the 200, 208 and 220 options I have. My guess is if it does...

    Favorite Carbon Fiber AR Handguard?

Under the auspices of "if one is good and two is better than more is more...", I have one on order too. More relevant to the OP, how does the diameter feel in hand? I find the Coda to be just about perfect (usually with a vertical grip) for my hands.

    Favorite Carbon Fiber AR Handguard?

Ape Factory... Drat. Now I know that the Smokes Composite will fit OSS/ HUXWRX under them and I need to toss my credit card out of reach. That's sharp lookin.

    Favorite Carbon Fiber AR Handguard?

I have a few Coda hand guards, and I really like how they feel in hand. And look, though I get how that *should* rank second. They've not seen any hard use, so I can't speak to how durable they are. The web has some people saying "very robust," and other saying "not as good as ___." I also...

Rifle Scopes Green Eotech reticle with color blindness

22 years? So you missed the endless grade-school game of "what color is that...? What about that...?" Good times... I don't think you'll loose the reticle; I feel like the fact that the reticle is a "light up" color vs a reflected color is relevant. Something something physics.

Rifle Scopes Green Eotech reticle with color blindness

I imagine all of this depends on how severe your/ one's colorblindness is. Mine isn't, I think, severe; I think I tend to confuse colors more than outright not see them (but yes, maybe confuse is another way, as jb0311 said, of differentiating, which is another way of not seeing...). So...

    Accurate lightweight 16" barrel recommendations?

Has anyone used JP's 14.5 UL barrel. Their site notes just over a pound, and it has an impressively small profile...

    Eotech Multi-Dot Reticle... specs

Too late... lol. Feel free to correct me, but I don't think subsonic 300 has a 50/ 200 (secondary) zero. I have a few. I don't disagree that the 2 dot view isn't needed, per se, and is also a bit busy. For now, my 300 blks are more for fun, so there's a bit more leeway for "this is...

    Eotech Multi-Dot Reticle... specs

Thanks for the response, loveha. That part I understand. What I am trying to track down is the (MOA) drop/ distance from the center dot to the lower dot. Ideally a definitive spec, vs the guestimation that I demo-ed in the OP.

    Eotech Multi-Dot Reticle... specs

Can anyone correct/ shed light and/ or confirmation on the following? I am specifically thinking about the (E)XPS-2 versions. Does anyone know the actual MOA drop/ distance of that second dot. Ive read that the 300 blk version and the "regular" version are the same reticle, and that the...

LEFT HANDED Shooters- we Southpaws need your input

I have an American Rifle Company Archimedes in 6.5CM fit for a lefty. It may not be relevant now, but when I ordered it last year, there was *less* of a wait for it vs the RH version. While it has been sadly under-used, I'm happy with it.

Suppressors What effects backpressure on a piston gas gun

Flowthru option... 👍, which is less helpful given your exiting suppressor. I recently changed from a Surefire 556 so DA Nomad30 and (in a completely unscientific study) feel there is less gas coming out of the ejection port. My guess is the DA's larger volume + the .30 bore help more gas go...

Helmet for the left-eye dominant and large headed gentleman?

I have a TW bump helmet (comes in only right eye Dom) and then ordered a left-eye Dom cam fit retention kit from them and bought some washers and "just long enough" bolts and retro fitted the new retention kit to the helmet. The helmet's padding covers up the DIY nature of the project. I...

Suppressors Thoughts on Backpressure-- 5.56 RC2 vs Nomad-30

Thanks Gasgun, Buried in the middle of the OP, I note minimizing ejection-port gas, and which options--the current SF or the pending DA--which is likely to have less gas out of the ejection port. While not offensive, less gas is better. I understand that a precise/ scientific answer for this...

Suppressors Thoughts on Backpressure-- 5.56 RC2 vs Nomad-30

I appreciate the chart. However, for the purposes of this thread, I am most interested in "gas coming back down the barrel and into my face." I don't know how to quantify that but I think this is byproduct of a can's back pressure...

Suppressors Thoughts on Backpressure-- 5.56 RC2 vs Nomad-30

I have 5.56 11.5" Triarc suppressor-only upper that currently has a Surefire brake and 556 RC2 suppressor, and I am pondering switching to a Xeno mounted Nomad-30 when it gets approved. While I try to deconstruct Pew Science's very good test results, can anyone opine about the suppressors'...

TRIARC 16” Track 2.0 Barrel: A Quick Look

I'm embarrassed to say I've done neither accuracy nor MV testing for barrel/ load combos; Ive been too lazy to mount and zero a high mag scope to test and already have a precision-oriented upper (and so the lazy inertia wins) Yes to factory loads--mostly just M193 for plinking or classes...

TRIARC 16” Track 2.0 Barrel: A Quick Look

As am I. I have a few Triarc barrels, including a 16" so Molon's thorough reviews will be a relevant read for me. Were you to shoot it suppressed 100%, the suppressor-only gas port might be worth considering.
