I intend to use my AR15 with a Millet DMS scope on it, otherwise I have no other Gear. So what do you guys recommend as a...

Re: Merit to bench rest? not trying to knock it or anything just seems easier then other positions

    Merit to bench rest?

Re: Merit to bench rest? I have to think that shooting at any range would be easier off a bench, compared to the ground or off hand etc.

    Merit to bench rest?

Re: Merit to bench rest? so while shooting benchrest to get the basics such as sight alignment and such, are you advocating the use of bags or are you useing a gun vise?

    Merit to bench rest?

Re: Merit to bench rest? Kind of what I was thinking, benchrest just seems like the perfection of the rifle as opposed to the improvement of the shooter.

    Merit to bench rest?

So I am new to this place and this type of shooting. I have been shooting for years out in the woods etc. I have always shot from any brace or tree that I could use, often times when nothing there was to be used I would shoot off hand with the aid of a sling. My question is, do you guys see any...

Suppressors shooting 22 cal through a 5.56 can

Re: shooting 22 cal through a 5.56 can Now unless I am missing something. I could buy a nice 30 cal can ( maybe one specifically for the 300 win mag) and use it on my 300 win mag, 308, 5.56, 223, and my 22LR? and the thing will actually work pretty good? So why dosn't everyone do this?

Suppressors shooting 22 cal through a 5.56 can

Re: shooting 22 cal through a 5.56 can That is exactly what I was talking about, I had been in a gun shop where the guy at the counter said that I could buy the can for my AR15 and have my 10/22 threaded for the can, then run the same can on both. I had never head this before and figued I...

    looking for advice

Re: looking for advice I Knew someone would know about these types of things, now I could get a mcm stock and a base from that guy. Maybe the browning is a keeper.

    looking for advice

Re: looking for advice Theres what I was hoping for, I didn't realize MCM had a stock for the A bolt. Also I was discouraged when I couldn't find a picatinny base for it. The one you show in that thread has a base on it, any idea who makes it? Guess I should have read more carefully, in...

    looking for advice

Re: looking for advice To be honest that is kinda what I expect to hear. Unfortunitly I have been reloading for this rifle for years and kinda like it. I was hoping someone would know of a few manufacturers that make products for the browning. Otherwise looks like I may be parting ways with...

    looking for advice

I am newly intrested in precison shooting. The only rifle I have that is up for long range is a Browning A bolt medallion in 300 win mag with the Boss compensator. It has a decent wood stock and is a nice hunting rifle. I would like to hear opinons on if I should try to use this rifle to build...

Fieldcraft Suggestions for long range reactive Tgts

Re: Suggestions for long range reactive Tgts This may sound a bit odd, but I have used ballons in the desert. tie them to a bush or a rock. I never shot them further then about 300 yards but they are kinda fun as the move with the breeze. clean up isn't bad and you can get those party packs...
