    expander mandrel case support?

Yes makes sense. I thought maybe the case was bending at the shoulder oddly. I am still learning. Thanks

    expander mandrel case support?

Yes I am talking about runout of the necks I do not turn the necks I do anneal each time now that I have an AMP I forgot to write I have some new brass, some once fired and now have some twice fired. I was hoping I could avoid having to turn the necks. I will definitely try to run the expander...

    expander mandrel case support?

Next time I will absolutely make sure, good point. The new Lapua brass has a little bit out of round off the bat, not much at all but it gets worse when I expand it. I even changed from SS to carbide mandrel. I am able to get about 1/2" groups at 100 but opens up at 500. next time to the...

    expander mandrel case support?

I reload 6.5 CM and seem to make my concentricity worse when I size the neck then use an expander die. Is there a way to support the case in a die while running an expander die through? I have a Rockchucker Supreme press and a MEC press. Using Redding dies. Do I need to use an arbor press? Thanks

    Labradar competitors

Thanks for mentioning this. Maybe that is another reason I have trouble at my range in prone position, yet it seems to work well off the bench with the unit on my tripod. It is very fickle. I think I will get one of those Piet triggers to see if that eliminates any missed data.

Neck bushing and Imperial sizing wax

My mistake you were right I checked it I have another die it is a Redding neck sizing due and that one I had set aside labeled it .289 but the .289 was in this full size S type. Doh! I guess after annealing there is not any spring back at all I will swap them out Thanks

Neck bushing and Imperial sizing wax

Well it worked on some Alpha brass just a couple weeks ago but good point, measure twice cut once.

Neck bushing and Imperial sizing wax

I seem to be having trouble with my neck sizing coming out almost 2 thou smaller than my bushing and that was never a problem with my last rifle. I have once fired new Lapua brass in 6.5 CM. Shot in a new build for PRS with a GA Precision bartlein barrel. I now have a MEC press and use a...

    Tikka T3 Thread

My Tikka CTR 24" in 6.5 has 2900 rounds now. The lands have moved forward quite a bit. Groups are noticeably bigger but still not bad. How many rounds should I expect to get from this factory barrel with using 40.7 grains of H4350 and 142 SMK going about 2640-2670 max? thanks

    PRS rifle build choices

I went with 6.5 creedmoor doing load development now if I swap barrels in the future it may be a 6.5 x 47 lapua and a 24" long barrel instead of 26

    PRS Talk AG cup re-run??

Funny but I guess I am not as cynical as you are If it got such poor reviews, maybe that is why it is not showing reruns. IDK I was glad to see bits and pieces of what they did show anyway

    PRS Talk AG cup re-run??

I DVR'd it and thought I would get a chance to see what it is like to watch some really good shooters attack stages and see how they do at it. I concluded that nothing beats experience. Everyone learns differently in order to improve at something. The show was similar to that show's other...

    Tikka T3 Thread

The overall length gauge is easy to do but I have found it is not all that accurate. I use this method as described in this youtube it may take longer but is well worth it as far as repeatability and accuracy.

    PRS rifle build choices

you are correct, I love the rifle and plan on keeping it. I just made a choice to try a different action and chassis. My Tikka has almost 3000 rounds and I figure it will need another barrel next year so I had thoughts of replacing the barrel with maybe a .223 for practice since my home range...

    PRS rifle build choices

:)Win? I think I am a ways from winning for sure. I plan to put more time into practicing for sure. I noticed that GA Precision has the 6.5 CM but it is not a 1-8 twist like my Tikka, it is a 8.5 twist. Maybe I am worried about nothing or splitting hairs. thanks

    PRS rifle build choices

I was thinking more about what you said about band aid. That maybe I should stick with the 6.5 for another year or 2. It won't get me any more speed though than I would with a 6mm but then again, I could change to 6 mm on the next barrel. Tough decision.

    PRS rifle build choices

I do keep working on that and can stay on in prone, it is just some other positions I have some difficulty. I will keep practicing though. Thanks

    PRS rifle build choices

I just started shooting PRS recently and have researched and read a lot on the subject of rifle choices for builds but would like some other opinions. I began with a Tikka CTR 6.5 creedmoor in a KRG bravo chassis. I am thinking of going to 6 mm creedmoor since it is available in Lapua brass...
