1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have wondered the same from time to time. Though a laser is simply focused light it must follow the same physics as any other light. But in this scenario the accuracy difference must me minimal. If the worst mirage I've ever shot in accounted for maybe 2 mils of trajectory. 2 mils @ even 2000...
Good video. I have been trying to plot refraction for several years. It's hard enough when shooting across flat ground but there's no such thing in my AO. Never know which way it's going to go from one day to the next.
I've also seen the target follow the wind in mirage. Such as needing 0 wind...
Which would be preferred for truing the solution?
Adjust the MV to 20-30fps faster the measured MV?
Or adjust the CDF to match with the measured MV?
Is one way better than the other?
BTW the new update seems to have corrected my problem with the CDF & no service.
Thanks.
Last night I un-installed the app reinstalled it this morning after starting the phone. The profile was not there. Recreated the profile & it still doesn't apply the cdf without the network connection.
I don't get it...
Tech support asked me to do just that a couple weeks ago. As near as I can tell there was only 1 in there. I deleted both with even similar names & waited 24hrs. None reappeared. I have made it do the same thing at my house starting the app in airplane mode too.
Is there another way to insure...
Anyone else find that the new CDF function won't save to the phone? I've found that to get the corrected dope I have to open the app with cell service. Twice I've been out of service when I open the app to shoot & the CDF doesn't work. I have to open it again with service for it to make the...
When I use the CD model for
308 ELDM 225 the app won't save a DSF calibration. Also given the 1.5 mil change in trajectory I see @ elr ranges I wonder if it's accurate. I have it set very close using the G7 BC.
Hornady did change the bullet design a year after they released it.
I haven't tried it with G1 but I shouldn't need to. It should be at least within .1mil of actual. Both Streloc & AB & now Geoballistics are all within .1mil actually less. I'm confused about why my most expensive solver is so much farther off.
I'll use the .440BC & see how it tracks hut I'll...
I'm seeing a weird result out of Cold Bore. 1st I'm no novice when it comes to Ballistics but this is weird. I enter the posted G7 BC for the 225ELDM..391
Enter my chronyd MV of 2808fps.
My zero conditions & field conditions & Cold Bore predicts 14.3mil @ 1470yds.
However Streloc Pro says...
Can someone please explain the 2 wind tabs? The manual only says wind 1 is used for aero-jump. But when I enter wind 1 from 4 o'clock @ 1mph & wind 2 from 10 o'clock @ 3 mph it shows 2 results & directions. Am I supposed to do math? Or just use the wind 2? Unsure...
This was my wind from last...
The PPU brass has .012" neck & the Lapua is .015"
Since it does it without a bushing in the die the bushing size is irrelevant.
The shoulder is bumping back only .002"
I'm not using the same bushing. .331 for the PPU & .337 for the Lapua.
It does this without any bushing in it too.
Always in the same place just at the neck/shoulder junction..002" smaller there than the bushing sized area.
Been using cheaper brass for decades but bought some new Lapua for my 300WM & when sizing with a Redding -S die bumping .002 it is putting a crimp right at the neck/shoulder. I can feel it when seating & I can measure it inside right at the base of the neck. This is causing runout & inconsistent...
I don't remember what year I joined but it was several years before Scout. Maybe 04 or so.
Don't post much at all anymore.
Wish it could go back to the way it was before. Showing my age...
Too bad I can't read my old posts about the matches I hosted years ago. Lots of pics I haven't seen in a...
I discussed that very question with the post office manager several years ago. I was told that when a Firearm is brought in for shipping it is a 'package' just like any other. It is required that you declare it as such but its just another package to be shipped.
